Close to great hiking and cycling in Southwestern Vermont. Ski or snowboard at Killington, Bromley, or Stratton. Shop the local farmers' markets. Watch the stars. Relax in front of the wood burning fireplace or at our outdoor fire pit. Shop the outlets in Manchester. UNWIND. Open floor plan with new fully-equipped kitchen, marble counters, and eating bar. Dining room easily accommodates 6 and provides a mountain view. Dining room is open to living room with fireplace (firewood provided), built-in cabinetry, ample seating, and picture window with southern views. There is a large deck off the living room and a smaller deck off the mudroom; large deck is protected by an awning during the summer months. Fire pit. Separate laundry with laundry tub, washer and dryer. Mudroom located off of dining room for storage of equipment and gear. Hardwood floors in main living area and bedrooms. Free wifi and cable TV. Jigsaw puzzles, board games, books, bumper pool table, and information on local attractions. French press, Melita drip, single K-cup, 8-cup drip coffee makers, and coffee grinder, small Weber charcoal grille. Trash and recycling removal by host (guests to sort). Snow removal provided on day of arrival and day of departure; intermediate removal to be paid for by guests at $75 per plowing. Guests will have full access to main living floor of house, both decks, and the yard. Host to provide guests with name of local contact. Wells, VT is a small town located just south of Lake St. Catherine and Lake St. Catherine State Park and close to skiing (Killington, Bromley, Stratton), snow boarding, snow shoeing, hiking, cycling, antiquing, cross country skiing, leaf peeping, golf, skating, kayaking, canoeing, sailing, swimming, maple sugaring -- and RELAXING. The area also offers historical and interesting places to visit such as Calvin Coolidge Historic Site, Plymouth Notch, VT; Hildene, summer home of Robert Todd Lincoln, Manchester Village, VT; Hubbardton Battlefield, Hubbardton, VT, and the Japanese Garden, Hubbardton, VT. The Town of Wells offers a town beach with dock, boat launch, grilles and picnic tables; parking is free. Lake St. Catherine State Park offers camping, swimming, boat rentals, sandy beach, snack bar and bathrooms and is a few miles up the road. There is no public transportation in Wells. Nearest Amtrak station is in Rutland, VT. Closest airports in Albany, NY and Rutland, VT. Guests are responsible for cleaning fee of $125. Knobs, handles, etc. to be sanitized between guests; additional charge of $40.
