Think modern city apartment meets traditional kiwi bach. Stunning views over Tasman Bay - even from the comfort of your king sized bed! Expect peace and relaxation with Nelson city centre and all its attractions only a 12 minute car journey away. If you enjoy tranquility, views and proximity to nature you will love our place. Absence of traffic noise and street lighting are definite plusses. Gaze at the milky way from the deck or watch the moon's reflection on the ocean. You will feel away from it all yet within just twelve minutes by car you are in Nelson enjoying its sport and leisure activities, shops, farmers and craft markets, fine dining and boutique breweries. The downstairs space is open plan with kitchen dining lounge area with log burning stove. The main bedroom and bathroom are downstairs. The upstairs space has a sunny reading area with fabulous views, entertainment lounge and second double bedroom. The master bedroom is spacious and you may even enjoy dolphin spotting from the king sized bed. Both upstairs and downstairs have 'heat pumps' (heating and air conditioning units). There are heaters in the bathroom and bedroom. There are three outside seating areas. The house comfortably accommodates two adults. Guests are free to enjoy all amenities. We Netflix and a modest DVD collection for guest use. You may use our yoga swing by prior arrangement. The lounge is upstairs and guests are free to relax in this area. Please no food or drinks that might stain the carpet. The 2 other upstairs rooms will be unavailable for guest use (used for host's storage). There's plenty of room to spread out elsewhere! We only rent the house when we are away so expect complete privacy. You will be looked after either by us or by our representative. You may occasionally see our gardener. The boulder bank scenic reserve is at the end of our street a few minutes walk away. Good for beach walks all year round. Its pebbly so perfect for clean, safe swimming in summertime and surfing year round. Cable by is the next bay along (which is a 3 hour walk/15 minute drive away) and has a cafe open in the summertime. The nearest sandy beach is at Tahunanui about 15 minutes drive away. Day trips include Abel Tasman and Kahurangi national parks, Marlborough Sounds, Mount Arthur, Rainbow Ski fields and the Nelson lakes. Golden Bay is a little further afield and worth the drive. There are many vineyards to visit near Nelson. Guests would need their own transport because there are no buses to Glenduan. The nearest bus stop is Atawhai which is 8K away. Nelson airport is 25 minutes away by car. Picton (for ferry to wellington) 1 hour 40 Marahau (for Abel Tasman national Park) 1 hour 10 There is ample street parking and off road parking in front of the workshop. You can park on the main driveway but not that it is quite steep and you need to reverse down. There are no shops at the Glen but you can get fresh milk, triple cream and eggs from the farm at Glenduan on the Glen road 24 hours a day. There's a new cafe at Glenduan from December 2017 open Thursday-Sunday. The nearest convenience store is at Hira about 4km away or Four Square supermarket at Atawhai about 8km away.
