Coastal breeze retreat, pets welcome
You will love staying at our comfortable, light and airy home, just 2 mins to the lake walking track, and close to beaches, restaurants and cafes. All the modern comforts with plenty of space for get togethers, large or small groups. A great hub if visiting the Coast for work. Leafy aspect, relaxing alfresco dining space, surrounded by parklands, coastal walks and shops, all within 10 minutes. Well stocked kitchen and everything you need. 100% cotton sheets for maximum sleeping comfort. The home has two living areas, an upstairs living / dining area and a 'master suite' downstairs with queen bed and lounge area all in one large room that opens onto the back patio area. Downstairs is accessible with no stairs (but normal door widths). Downstairs there is also a sitting room with a bunk bed and a single bed, and a second bathroom. The kitchen and upstairs lounge open onto a large deck at the front of the house with an alresco eating area. The home has three bedrooms upstairs, two queen bedrooms and one bedrooms set up with two single beds. Guests have access to all areas except the garage. There is plenty of parking onsite. For those with mobility needs, the lower level is accessible with no stairs to get to the bedroom or lounge. There are bus stops within 200 metres of the house. I live close by and can offer help during your stay if needed - otherwise you will have peace and quiet to enjoy your stay Berkeley Vale runs along Tuggerah Lake and the home is just 2 minutes walk to the lake, which has a walking/biking track all the way around the foreshore to The Entrance. This is fairly flat and about an 8km ride - if you enjoy cycling - to enjoy a coffee at The Entrance. You are 10 minutes drive to Shelley Beach which has a dog off leash area - I take my dog there (a Kelpie) regularly. Shelley Beach has Munchas Cafe and the Surf Life Saving Club with an upstairs restaurant and a balcony with amazing views of the beach and coastline - highly recommended. If you are a foodie, there are a range of restaurants within 10-15 mins from the absolute seaside dining at the 4.5 star Ocean Restaurant at Blue Bay, and the upmarket restaurant at Kim's Resort at Toowoon Bay, to South American Tapas at The Entrance, a sensational Mexican restaurant at Long Jetty and many family friendly options. The Golf Club at Shelley Beach has a restaurant with a view. Two mins from the house there are the Lakedge Drive shops with an Italian restaurant, a bottleshop, a Cafe, or why not simply grab some fish and chips from the takeaway and head across the road to the park by the water. For beaches, Shelley Beach is the closest ocean beach. Just around the next headland is Toowoon Bay, a family friendly beach protected from large waves by a circle of rocky points and perfect for the kids (no dogs allowed on this beach). Just another hop skip and jump up the coast is The Entrance, which has its own beaches, and a daily pelican feeding at 3:30pm - a great experience highly recommended. You are also only 15 minutes from Terrigal, a great place to visit for beach, shops and places to eat. Berkeley Vale has a really good grocery shopping area, with Tumbi Wholesale Meats and the local Fruit and Veg shop next door, on Tumbi Creek Rd just 5 minutes drive south from the house. There's also a Coles on the other side of the suburb, as you come into the area from the M1 (5 minutes to the north of the house). For young kids there is a brand new enclosed pirate playground with picnic tables on the northern end of Lakedge Drive about 3 mins drive from the house. The Australian Reptile Park is another great outing for kids for the day, about 35 minutes drive. There are lots of events and activities for all ages - see Central Coast Council website 'whatson' page or Visit Central Coast tourism website for more information. There is boat hire at Long Jetty and The Entrance if you want to get out on the water and plenty of spots for dropping a line in all up and down the coast. If you like theatre, check out what's playing at The Art House which is about 25 minutes drive away in Wyong, or Laycock Street Theatre, a bit more of a drive, in Gosford. The closest cinema is at Tuggerah Westfield, about 10 minutes drive from the house. Little known, there are some great artisans on the Central Coast. Firescreek Botanical Winery is currently running 'foraging and mixing' courses, Distillery Botanica is an award-winning boutique gin making firm with a restaurant and the famous Mr Goaty's Gelato shop. You could do a Bottomless Brunch or Cocktail Mixing class at House of Pocket in Terrigal. Cheese and chocolate lovers can't miss a trip to the Wyong Milk Factory which has a cooperative of small artisans such as Iluka Chocolates (handmade onsite) and the multi-award winning Little Creek Cheese, as well as a great new gastro pub. There is also the Chocolate and Nougat Factory at West Gosford. All these places have websites so have a good look and plan some fun outings for your trip! Got a question - feel free to ask your host! There are bus stops along Lakedge Drive within 2 minutes walk from the house. The home is close to business parks at Tuggerah and Berkeley Vale and a great home away from home for work trips. In the winter months it is close to whale watching sites (10 mins) to see the humpbacks as they migrate up the coast in winter quite spectacular!
