Cheap & Cosy Room in a Locals Home

10 Minutes from Darwin International Airport. Elevated home in Malak with a huge balcony overlooking the garden. Bus service within 1 minute walking can take about 45 minutes to reach the city. Please note Mara (my mother) will be your host. I live in a close by location. Darwin local for 25+ years she has a wealth of knowledge of the area and a passion for sharing it. The huge balcony is a beautiful spot for relaxing with a glass of wine or beer and talking into the night. **** We have two airbnb rooms online. you can book them both if available for a discount (just contact) otherwise there may be other guests staying the same time. If a social home stay is not to your liking I would recommend elsewhere **** During the week we can't always be there to let you in until after four pm as we are working full time. However we try to be as flexible as possible. Just communicate! You have full access to the house & kitchen. Wifi access is available to you. There is also a desktop PC you can use for short periods We are a green house we try to conserve energy as much as possible and recycle recycle recycle! I (Amanda) do not live at the residence. I do occasionally stop by but you might not see me. Mara(my mother) will be your host. She can leave you alone or talk your ear off, it depends on you and what interactions you are comfortable with. During the week we work full time and have many night time commitments. Mara is social and friendly and will happily take you along to our own social events if available. In the dry season we head out to Kakadu & Litchfield most weekends if you are there at the right time we will invite you. The neighborhood is mostly quiet, you get the odd car revving up the street but nothing extreme. It is the suburbs-so far from the city. Car recommended Crocodylus park is within walking distance. So is Leanyer Water Park-- a free park for swimming and waterslides (mostly for kids but still fun for adults ;) ) I can offer off-street parking for two vehicles. There is a bus stop within 1 minute walking that takes you to the Casuarina Interchange in about 15 minutes and then about 20-30 minutes into the city from there.
