Murnong is a self contained spacious cottage set in a peaceful established garden on a 40 hectare (100 acres) property 18 km from Bairnsdale. Relax and savour the peaceful valley setting, the birds, the wildlife and local bush walks. Spacious cottage fully self contained self catering three bedrooms. Very private. The accommodation includes 1 queen size and 2 twin bedrooms, lounge room with wood fire heating and air conditioning, separate sitting room, fully equipped country style kitchen, laundry facilities (washing machine and dryer), all linen, breakfast hamper on arrival, books, games, magazines. TV, DVD and video, cot and high chair and BBQ area. Located close to Sydney Melbourne coastal route and the Great Alpine Road. From Murnong you can explore the pleasures and vistas of East Gippsland with National Parks, the 90 mile beach, Gippsland Lakes, Buchan Caves and rivers, to rural towns and fishing villages. Guests have access to the entire 40 hectare property and the adjoining state forest. As hosts we can provide local knowledge and information on interesting places to visit. Murnong is situated close to the Mitchell River National Park with walking tracks, stunning views, aboriginal history and white water rafting and kayaking. The nearby Gippsland Lakes provides the opportunity for boating, fishing and swimming. Just off the mainland Raymond Island has a resident population of koalas and is accessed by a short ferry ride from Paynesville. Lakes Entrance and the 90 mile beach are also popular attractions. Lindenow is the closest town (10 minutes) with a hotel, store, butcher and café and views across the Mitchell River Valley. Bairnsdale (18 km) is a large regional centre with restaurants, swimming pool, theatre, cinema, aboriginal mueum and shopping. The state forest offers four wheel driving, trail bike riding, mountain bike riding, hiking, bird watching and deer hunting (permit required).
