A house in the Village

Our traditional javanese Village house is located only 15 minutes by car from the centre of Solo. It has 3 sleeping rooms, a full working kitchen, a huge living room, an open air bath room and a shady terrace to relax surrounded by Teak trees and green. The traditional building style provides you with a cool space without the need for an Air Con. The 3 sleeping rooms have double beds and mosquito net, the bathroom has traditional Indonesian Mandi and also a hot water shower. The house is located at the border of the village and all you can see from here is fields, teak trees and tropical plants. You have the whole house to your own. The kitchen is fully equipped including a fridge and a rice cooker, so if you feel like cooking there is no problem. Tea and coffee making supply and drinking water is available for free. There is free WiFi, a television with a DVD player (but no local TV channels) and a small stereo with a huge supply of CDs. Cleaning service twice a week is included and there is a washing machine, so you can do your laundry. My work requires me to travel frequently, but if I am in Solo at the same time as my guests I am happy to help you with information, travel advice and insights about Solo, my chosen home town. The house is located at the outskirt of a traditional Javanese Village about 5 km from the Centre of Solo. You still have free roaming chicken, sheep and goats and a laid back, village like feeling around you. By taxi it is only about 15 minutes to the centre of Solo and will cost you around 2,50 - 3 US$. With the new online ride hailing services transport has even gotten a lot easier. If I am around at the date of your arrival I can pick you up from the airport or the train station, if not I can give you exact direction for the taxi driver. My own house is only about 50 meters away, so if you have any questions while you are staying here, me or my husband are happy to help you. Important note - this house is not a luxury place - it is a comfortable and unique place to stay, quiet, very close to nature and really interesting for who ever wants to have a impression of the real Java. But if you looking for an hotel style accommodation with Air Con and a modern setting, this house is not the right place.
