Retro studio apartment
This is a single room, retro studio with a double bed, a king single and a single trundle bed (a porta-cot available upon request). Split system air conditioning / heating ensures comfort during your stay. The kitchen has a fridge, a double hot plate (suitable for reheating meals) and microwave. There is a small, private bathroom with shower and toilet. There is a front loader washing machine. A small TV is provided which has free to air, Apple TV and Netflix and fast free WIFI available. This is a retro-style space, originally a garage which we converted to a studio apartment. It is set aside exclusively for guest’s use. This studio is perfect for a “staycation” or for someone needing to work from home. Most of the time we will be around and are happy to point you in the direction of local activities. However, this space is seperate from our living area, so while you may hear us sometimes, you’re pretty independent and private. Often we don’t see guests at all during their stay, unless they choose to interact with us. The studio front entrance looks out on to the local park, home to many local parrots and other native birds. The park flows on to a local primary school (easy access to play grounds and ovals if you want to go for a jog or use equipment). It’s a short trip to the Mullam Mullam trail and Eastland shopping centre The Eastlink motorway is only a few minutes away, and by car it is between 30 min (off peak times) - 45 min (rush hour) drive from our home to the city. There is a bus stop literally across the road, and a direct route takes you to the Ringwood train station. Ringwood train station is across the road from Eastland, Eastern Regional library, and Ringwood Town Square, which is full of amazing restaurants. Ringwood train station is a major station, a direct line into Melbourne city, so from our house to the city by public transport is between 50 minutes and one hour depending on the time a day (One bus, which drops you at the station, then one train direct to the city). The local shops (supermarket, cafes and restaurants) and the 100 Acre Woods are a 10 minute walk away. Maroondah Highway is only 5 minutes away, and heading east for 30 minutes will have you in the heart of Yarra Valley and Healesville, with easy access to the many wineries, dairies, Four Pillars Gin Distillery, Beechworth Bakery and Healesville Sanctuary - to name a few PLEASE NOTE: Due to the COVID-19 we are implementing enhanced cleaning and disinfecting routines (such as cleaning frequently touched areas between reservations) using a hospital grade Viraclean solution. Please notify us if you have sensitivities to this cleaning product. The hotplate is really only suitable for reheating dishes, it’s a slow heat so not very good for trying to cook quickly or for complicated meals. The Wi-Fi is very fast, however, if it is slow, please message and we will reset the router.
