Dear Guests, We are pleased to announce that Bataan is now under Alert Level 2 from Nov 15-30, Alert Level 1-3 and also areas under GCQ are very much welcome to book our place. Requirements: Valid id with address, vaccination card, QR code/travel pass, and for below 18 w/o vaccination needs to present medical certificate. Native House with beautiful pool, double room for 4 adults or 2 adults + 2 children with separate kitchen. This is a big property comprising several hectares in beautiful Bataan province, north west of Manila. It can easily be reached by car, bus or ferry. The residence is located in the middle of nature with wonderful views of the west Philippine sea and Mt. Natib, a National Park ideal for hiking excursions. The property is located on a hill (97 steps to be climbed) about 4 km from the sea. We are a Filipino-German Family, and this is our Home, Farm and Garden. It is also known as Mango Garden Bagac. We chose this place because of the tropical vegetation, panoramic vistas, space and the feeling of freedom. A Caretaker Family also lives on-site and takes care of everything, also in our absence. Our two dogs Bennie and Heidi passed away half a year ago. We have a new dog, Tango who complement the family. Guests are invited to book available space not currently being used by us, relatives and friends. Some of our Guests are happy to spend their entire vacation on the grounds, relaxing, chilling out, cooking, swimming and reading. Other Guests also use the property as a base for excursions or events, such as day trips to the beach, hiking in the mountains, or attending weddings in nearby resorts. It is easy for a week to fly by and regret not having more time. Layout There is a main house with 2 bedrooms, one occupied by the owners, and the other is available for rent. There is also a Native House, called "Mango House", a Service Block with an open kitchen, plus a lovely pool located under mango and cashew trees. In addition, there are 2 wooden structures called "The Levels", a look-out tower called "The Tower", and a grill/open fireplace. Furthermore, the property includes "a jungle", a meadow, a vegetable garden, some rice fields and several beautiful fruit trees. With all these facilities on offer, everyone can select and retreat to their own corner for their own particular activity. This is a different world, far removed from the frenetic frenzy of the city in the serenity of nature. It is great for deep relaxation, for reading a good book, or better still, for writing one. Lay-out: The Native House, also called the Mango House, consists of three separate structures, namely the house proper, the sitting area with kitchen facilities, and the open-air bathroom. It takes its name from a huge mango tree adjacent to the house. The House: The Mango House proper is a traditional Filipino hut constructed with native materials, consisting of two rooms with a fan, one bigger room (17 sqm) which accommodates two in one double bed, and a smaller one (13 sqm) which accommodates two in one double bed. Both rooms are accessed individually via an elevated wooden porch, which provides a small cosy sitting area and good views. In early 2019, we added a little toilet to each of the rooms with a small wash basin. These rooms basically serve as sleeping quarters, whereas the day is likely to be spent outside. The Sitting Area: The big roofed sitting area (28 sqm) with a ceiling fan is really the living room, with a big handmade mahogany table, wooden benches and a sizeable sideboard to place and store things. There is a hammock between 2 pillars. A small kitchen facility is available, with a small fridge, basic kitchen utensils, a gas-fired burner, and a sink, so that you can prepare your favourite meals either here, or on a stone grill close by. Washing up liquid, a sponge and tea towels are provided. The caretakers are available on site to help where needed and to give basic information on the property and surroundings. Our neighbourhood is peaceful and tranquil. The Property is located in central Luzon, north-west of the capital Manila, on the west side of the Bataan Peninsula. Foreign visitors will either arrive in Manila airport, or better still, directly at Clark airport. For details please click on airports. Visitors from Metro Manila have three options, which are car, public transportation or ferry. The most convenient method is the ferry. There is a parking space available on the property.
