My home is situated in the suburbs of Colombo in the historical town of Ethul Kotte, the capital of Srilanka. This is a lake town, with vast expansions of water bodies and wetland parks surrounded by river Diyavanna. This house is a tranquil place where you find silence and privacy in the cool, shady garden with a quiet neighborhood. ( ' Wooden Gate - Artist's Gallery -Kotte - Airbnb ' is my other listing in the same premises if you wish to check - ) This is a separate unit on the ground floor with a separate entrance and safe parking. The entire unit is lockable and you will have your own keys as you are free to go out and enter at any time. It consists of 2 double bedrooms with one en suite bathroom, large sitting area and dinning space. Adjoining to the well equipped kitchenette is a leafy back garden . The whole house is airy and naturally ventilated . No A/C. It has fans, hot water and free Wi-Fi which is fast enough for office works . It gets a double door fridge and a fully auto washing machine. There is a sunny yard with cloth- lines too . You are free to enjoy the entire apartment and the garden . There is a fresh water well in the front garden with fish. Tall trees which are entangled with hanging creepers get melodious with birds and squirrels. The garden pond with aquatic plants is a habitat for fish and tadpoles where you can listen to the nocturne of toads. You are also, most welcome to my home in upstairs to see my gallery and witness a working experience of painting in my studio. It's joy for me to offer you the colors and canvas to do your own painting . I'm an enthusiastic practitioner of Yoga and freely you can join with me to learn this ancient way of life. Let the guests come as strangers and leave as friends. I like to share my experiences with the guests who seek in deeper knowledge of this island. I Plant forest trees in my garden to make a habitat for wildlife. ( Wildlife gardening is no longer about attracting fauna into your garden, but allowing species to survive. There is increasingly no where else they can live. We still suffer from the sense that wildlife is something that happens, elsewhere. ) This is a lake area , with vast expansions of water bodies and wetland parks surrounded by river Diyavanna. The paths designs for jogging and walking leads to the birds sanctuaries. Parliament Drive too is a beautiful road under the shady trees , ideal for an evening walk or an early morning jogging . They are within short walking distances from my place. Kotte archaeological museum and ancient ruins of the Kingdom of Kotte ( that flourished in Sri Lanka during the 15th century ) are also within easy distances to visit. The traditional craft- village with work shops and stalls is not far from here. The location is surrounded with popular restaurants, coffee shops , super markets and banks. Department of Immigration and Emigration too is within 20 minutes walking distance. * Easy access to the public transport. 3 minutes walk to the main bus road. * On call, uber taxis and tuk-tuks are available all 24 hours, which are reaching to the gate within few minutes. *Online food delivery services are available. * House garage and side of the lane has parking space. * Colombo Fort Railway Station is 9 km away. *Popular Maunt Lavinia beach is 8.8 km away ( 30 minutes drive ) * To the Southern High Way bus stand, there is 7.4 km which is 20 minutes drive. *Super markets, fruit shops and restaurants are within few minutes walking distance. * Cooking facilities are available. Tea, coffee, sugar, milk, spices , oil and other essentials are provided. You are welcome to prepare your own meals . * Drinking water is free and you may ask for any amount. * Food delivery on line services are available. Collection of Menu lists are kept in the apartment. * The garden and patio has enough space if you wish to smoke. Out door seats and ash-trays are there . * Since most of the flights arrive Colombo at mid night hours, check in at late night is not an issu (Website hidden by Airbnb) From the airport to Colombo city, an easy public bus service and 24 hour quick taxi service ( including Uber ) is available on cash payment ) * WiFi usage volume is limited and speed varied. It's always handy to have your own mobile data package to creates a hotspot. * Be equipped with mosquito repellents as you are reaching to a shady garden in tropical region. *Though the check-out time is 10 am, you may leave your bags or extra luggage safely here to collect them later or even at the end of the trip. * When you check out, leave the key in the keyhole of the door and no need to lock it.
