The Silo, Abdon Ramblers Retreat.

The Silo is a previous round grain store which has been converted into a two floor living space for those ramblers looking for a little comfort at the end of a long days walk. Situated in the shadow of the Brown Clee, the highest hill in Shropshire. Find out more about this area by following us on Face book, or our website Abdon Ramblers Retreat Ltd. This is a unique quirky living space, access to bedroom and bathroom is via a narrow spiral staircase. All guests will be provided with tea, coffee, fresh free range eggs from our hens/ducks, when available and logs for the log burner. We can also arrange for other items on your arrival (fresh bread / meat products) by arrangement. The Silo is situated in the grounds of our home with plenty of parking space. Guests may make use of the garden of our home with prior arrangements. Use of the hot tub (which is located next to The Silo) is included in the price. Don’t forget your flip flops and dressing gown, if you plan to use the hot tub. We also have two electric bikes which are available for hire for £35.00 for a full day and £25.00 for half a day. Please enquire about availability before booking. The Silo is located on our property to the main house, The Red Barn, this is our home and one of us is usually available throughout the day. This location is ideal for those who enjoy walking and want to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday living. Surrounded by farm land the only noise you will here is farm animals and local wild life along with the odd farm machinery. There is no public transport, guests will need their own vehicle. However, a taxi service can be arranged to local pubs booked in advance for a small charge. There is a local convenience store in the nearby village of Ditton Priors, 3 miles from the property. The shop is open Monday - Friday 08.30 am - 5.30 pm and Saturday 8.30am - 12.30 pm. The village also has a Petrol Station, Public House, Local Butcher, Cafe and Post Office with limited opening time.
