It has been renovated while maintaining the original floors and doors. There region is ideal for WALKING and CYCLING through the beautiful nature. The city councel has issued a hiking and cycling guide with different walking and cycling routes suitable all year round. El Chorro, at 20 minutes drive, is one of the world's best known CLIMBING destinations. There are lots of climbing points and different grades. The must do is without doubt the unforgettable walk on the CAMINITO DEL REY. The worlds most dangerous path has been restored and secured has now become one of the most famous attractions of Andalucía. The 'King's Path', is a wooden hiking trail built against the rock walls of the Garganta del Chorro gorge. The path was laid at the beginning of the last century to make the transport of personnel and goods to and from the power station between the Chorro waterfalls and Gaitaneja waterfalls easier and faster. King Alfonso XXIII of Spain used the path in 1921 at the inauguration of the dam Conde del Guadalhorce, giving it its current name 'Caminito Del Rey'. The walk is worthwhile: spectacular views, beautiful landscapes and a unique experience to walk along the narrow paths against the rock walls. Do not forget to order your tickets online in time! Near Caminito del Rey are the LAKES OF ARDALES with crystal clear water, great for swimming, canoeing and relaxing. Due to the central location of El Cielo Azul MÁLAGA city and the COSTA DEL SOL (Torremolinos, Benalmádena, Fuengirola, Mijas, Marbella, Puerto Banús...) are very easy to reach, aslo by train. The cities of ANTEQUERA and RONDA and are not far away and you can drive to the historic cities of GANADA, SEVILLA, CÓRDOBA between 1.5 and 2 hours by car. Natural parks such as EL TORCAL, with the it's moon-like landscape with the screw rocks and the SIERRA DE LAS NIEVES are at an hour's drive away. ÁLORA is located in the 'Valle del Sol' (Sunvalley) with the Guadalhorce river running just behind us. The fertile soil is suitable for growing citrus- and olive trees. Traditional dish of Álora is the Sopa Perota. The Moorish castle is overlooking the white village and can be visited for free. From the new 360° platform near the castle you have an amazing view over the valley. The second biggest church of the province is placed on the Plaza Baja de la Despedía. Next to it you find Álora’s small museum. Plaza Arriba de la Fuente is the centres heart, a cosy square with the beautiful townhall, tourist office. The terraces inviting for a drink and a tapa! The small train station of Álora is at 2 minutes walk from the B&B. Line C2 runs directly to the 3 train stations of Málaga city. For the airport or the Costa del Sol (from Torremolinos to Fuengirola) you change at Victoria Kent station to line C1 (7 minutes waiting time). 2 trains a day run to Seville and also stop in El Chorro near the Caminito Del Rey.
