**DISCOUNTS AVAILABLE FOR 1 WEEK BOOKINGS - ENQUIRE** Fairhaven is a rustic cottage situated on the outskirts of the village of Brockweir in the Wye Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It overlooks the River Wye across open fields at the front and nestles into woodland on the valley slopes behind. It sleeps six adults, plus a child and baby. Multiple bathrooms, lounging spaces and a fully equipped kitchen make the cottage the ideal venue for get togethers for family and friends. Fairhaven has been lovingly restored with traditional materials including lime mortar and locally sourced wood. Adapted to be as environmentally friendly as possible without compromising the charm of the original building, the cottage is also fitted with discreetly placed rooftop panels to provide solar water heating all year round. This comfortable and atmospheric home from home has a very spacious kitchen/ breakfast room, a cosy sitting room with deep leather sofas and wood burner, a stone walled dining room, dishwasher, American-style fridge-freezer with ice-dispenser. The TV includes Freeview, DVD and chrome-cast (for device-to-television screen sharing). There is also a downstairs loo and wet room. Upstairs there is a master bedroom suite with en-suite, small dressing room and an ante room with bed for a child as well as a travel cot. There are two further twin bedrooms, a shower room and another bathroom, a laundry cupboard with washing machine and tumble dryer. All the beds are made up with Egyptian cotton linen and towels. Essentials such as loo roll, soap, shower gel, dishwasher tablets, tea, olive oil etc as well as a basket of logs in season are provided. The second first floor sitting area leads out onto a stone terrace and garden abundant with free roaming plants to encourage wildlife including deer who make a regular appearance. There is also a front terrace and access to a small meadow with views of the river as well as a modest orchard where guests are invited to pick fruit in-season. Each outdoor area is generously equipped with furniture for al fresco dining. To ensure our guests are provided with the best experience Fairhaven is managed by Emma Nelson at White Feather Management. Emma will be available at all times to ensure you have everything you need during your stay. With Offa’s Dyke and the Wye Valley Walk on your doorstep, it is perfectly suited for a comfortable countryside escape – with a choice of scenic forest walks, riverside strolls, cycling, canoeing or even wild-swimming in the Wye* The Brockweir and Hewelsfield village eco shop, cafe and conference room is community owned and staffed by volunteers. It specialises in local food and is a WiFi cafe. We have a local village pub within walking distance (although currently under renovation) and many more options slightly further afield in Tintern. The Old Station in Tintern, Award Winning tea room (twice voted best in Wales) and a Wales Tourism accolade winner 2017 this charming tea room is situated in the original railway waiting room. . The famous local monument is the Cistercian Abbey of Tintern - a fine romantic monastic ruin. It was only the second Cistercian monastery in Britain, and the first in Wales, founded in 1131 by Walter de Clare, lord of Chepstow. Romantics and poets have long been visiting the Wye Valley for inspiration. You’ll come for the epic walks, beautiful landscapes and utter peace. Perfectly located for escaping life, ditching the car and exploring The Wye Valley on foot! Or, if you prefer to get out and explore we are close by to good road links and many popular villages, towns and tourist attractions. Many guests return time and time again as there is so much to do. Walking distance to the lovely village of Brockweir. Fabulous Eco-Village Shop & Cafe. Direct access to the River Wye and the Wye Valley Walk. Just over Brockweir Bridge (also within walking distance) buses go to Chepstow and Monmouth. For all the fantastic walks please look up the Forest Of Dean & Wye Valley Tourism Association or consult the book of Wye Valley Walks provided in the house. **Points to consider Although children are most welcome the garden is unfenced and steep so little ones must be supervised. Access-the cottage is situated down a very narrow lane, with parking for up to 3 cars maximum. Pets- due to the owner’s allergies regrettably pets are strictly not allowed. *caution is advised when swimming in the Wye
