House along the Jeruzalem wine road. It is easily accessible from Maribor,Graz,Balaton, Ljubljana and Zagreb airports. Serenity, wine, local cusine and hospitality are the norms of this region. The house along the Jeruzalem wine road: Sleeps 6; First floor level the house has a bathroom/shower and two bedrooms. One large bedroom has a queen-sized bed with a south facing balcony which is an ideal sun trap looking out over the garden and BBQ area. The other bedroom have two single beds . A double sofa bed in the lounge, adds a little versatility to a sleeping arrangement for a maximum of 6 persons. At ground floor level there is a bathroom, a fully equipped kitchen, dinning room, lounge, and a former grape pressing room nicely converted to a reading/chatting room. A large garden/BBQ area overlook the well tended vineyard. This part of Slovenia offers a fabulous wine landscape with the historic towns of Jeruzalem, Ljutomer, Ormoz and Ptuj which is Slovenias oldest town. Wine enthusiasts will cherish the fruity white wines produced along these wine roads.You will find many vinotoc (selling local food and wine) on these routes including our favourite Milan Hlebec in Kog. The wine he makes is famous in the area, a tasting and cellar tour can be arranged. Many of the locals have their own vines and have been making wine and schnapps all their lives. They are enthusiastic about all aspects of the making process and encourage neighbours and visitors to join in with the harvest and the subsequent celebrating. Other local activities include fishing, horse riding, cycling walking trails along the surrounding woods, vineyards and valleys. The area is known for its spas such as Mala Nedelja Biotherme, Moravske Toplice, etc. These spas attract visitors from all over Europe who come to take the healing waters, relax in a series of naturally heated pools or make use of the health and beauty treatments available. Shopping and other facilities are available within a 20 min drive. This locality is well placed to visit Austria to the north, Hungary to the east and Croatia to the south with cities such as Ljubljana, Graz, Maribor, Varazdin and Zagreb close enough for a day trip. The main activities in the vicinity are Mountain Biking / Cycling, Vineyard, Down-slope skiing, Fishing, Horse riding, Hiking, Rafting, Thermal Baths. Access to house BBQ area and back yard. As I am Maltese and not a permanent resident in Slovenia, the probability will be that Milan,my trusted neighbour, will welcome you and see to your needs.
