La Maison Bleue is the perfect base for your holiday in Southern Brittany. Located in a quiet village it is just a two minutes walk from bar, shop and restaurant. A ten minute drive takes you to the ancient town of Malestroit, visit on Thursday, market day! La Maison Bleue is traditional stone Breton cottage fully equipped with all the mod-cons you'll need for your perfect holiday. The house is set in its own large gardens and you can soak up the sun at any time of the day ! Downstairs a large open plan lounge-dining room with oak beams is designed around a huge Breton fireplace. Relax on comfy leather sofas, read a book or watch your favourite French or UK FreeView channels The large modern kitchen has everything you would expect; a microwave, fridge freezer, oven, washing machine and even a dishwasher. There is also a downstairs shower room and toilet. Upstairs you will find a double bedroom and a twin bedroom. The oak parquet floors and original oak 'A' frames that stretch up into the ceilings give that real Breton feel whilst the contemporary furnishings and decor ensure that you are always comfortable and feel at home. Outside the gardens have garden furniture and of course a BBQ for those hot summer evenings. La Maison Bleue is a private, self contained cottage. During your stay no one else will have access to the house nor the gardens. We live in the next village, so we are always available should you have any questions or if you would like any information about the surrounding area. Come and explore this stunning corner of France and discover its medieval towns, miles of sandy beaches and bustling markets. Enjoy a leisurely lunch at a local auberge or buy a baguette and picnic on the banks of the River Oust whilst watching the boats drift gently by. The surrounding area is packed with things to do. Explore the quirky shops in the ancient medieval town of Malestroit with its cobbled streets and 16th century architecture. Have a coffee in the town square, watch the world go by and decide which is the best restaurant for lunch... try the twelve euros four course workers lunch ! A short thirty minute drive and you are at the coast and the world famous Golfe du Morbihan, a huge nature reserve littered with hidden islands and dozens of white sandy beaches all waiting to be discovered. Take a short boat trip to the Ile aux Moins and explore the twisty paths and ancient buildings. Order oysters or mussels on the quay and soak up the atmosphere of a real fishing port. There are so many things to see and do, from animal parks to adventure activities, arts and crafts to boating and water sports, castles and chateaux to festivals and fetes. The list is huge, see our website for literally hundreds of things to do. You will need a car to explore this part of Southern Brittany. Parking is free in most of the smaller towns and tourist destinations. However you will need to pay for parking if you visit larger towns like Rennes or Vannes Free wifi Bed linen and towels are available free of charge.
