Moel y Don Cottage
Moel y Don is a stunning cottage situated on the water's edge looking out across the Menai Strait. It's a perfect, remote peaceful escape. We are located just 5 minutes away from the A55 making us a perfect hub from which to explore the delights of both Anglesey and Snowdonia. Also located on the famous coastal path of Anglesey. Perfect for families to escape the madness or work remotely. Paddleboard, our other holiday cottage is also located here: https://www.airbnb.com/h/paddleboard From the cottage you can sit and watch the beautiful wildlife of Anglesey, trundle down to go crabbing on the dock, pick up a Paddleboard or go for a hike on the coastal path. You have a large living room with huge window looking out onto the Menai Straits and a cosy log fire. The brand new kitchen is spacious and well stocked including, fridge, freezer, washing machine, microwave, oven and electric hob. Upstairs the bathroom is large with a bath and seperate shower. The master bedroom has a king size bed and two singles and the second bedroom. We try our very best to be kind to our planet and have started by doing the following simple things: We were involved with the creation of the Plastic Free Anglesey campaign. We provide shampoo/conditioner/handsoap stored in refillable bottles and produced by a responsible local firm. The coffee/tea/sugar/treats are all fairtrade. Our laundry is all done by a local company, again using responsible methods. Power supplied to the house is sourced from renewables. We encourage all our guests to use our recycling facilities Here's a comment from one of our guests: "We've stayed close by the water's edge in various parts of the world - but not this close! When the winds howl, you are at sea; when the sun shines you are on the beach. Superb cottage in all respects. Thank you." R Blatchford. Nicki and her family live next door and have access to along the front drive. You have a private parking space up and to the side of the cottage. The garden and ponds at the front are free for you to use. We are here as and when you need help and always a phone call or text away. We are located on the coastal path so you can walk from the door. There is some great fishing to be had on the Menai Straits and fantastic bird watching. The cottage sits right on the waters' edge at the bottom of a quiet lane (not along a car-breaking track like many cottages in this area). When the tide is in there is plenty of calm, safe water for a play in a kayak or paddle board. Low tide exposes a beautiful beach, great for a run around with the dog. We have many great eateries and pubs within a couple of miles... Menai Bridge holds more Michelin Stars than Manchester! A car is required but there is also a bus stop one mile away at the top of the lane, a trains station in Llanfairpwll and plenty of taxi services. Wifi is included in the price. We provide codes for access. One small dog at an extra fee of £20. If you are bringing your pet along please bring your own dog bed/blankets etc to respect and protect the furniture.
