Cottage in Ludgvan, Penzance, Cornwall
Wayside Cottage is a private holiday home in the village of LUDGVAN about 3 miles from Penzance. It is a small granite terrace cottage built around 1640 and can accommodate 4 people (in 1 main bedroom & 1 bunk bedroom). The beaches of Marazion are about a miles walk across the fields or 5 minutes by car. Our cottage is ideally placed for exploration across South West Cornwall, in easy access of the more traditional tourist spots, but out of the way enough to entice your inner Cornish explorer. Wayside cottage has been loved by 4 generations of our family and is collectively referred to as the 'little cottage'. It makes the perfect base; it has a cosy lounge where you can snuggle down in the evenings, a tiny kitchen to get you ready for the day or prepare a tasty treat on the electrical hobs in the evening (there's no oven but it is reasonably well equipped with utensils, pots & pans, dishes, bowls etc), a main bed room with a 3/4 double bed, a bunk bed room, and a bath room. It doesn't have; a Jacuzzi, a dish/clothes washer, shower or WiFi, it's a small basic cottage with heaps of character. Being built in the 17th Century its back door is only a cute 5 foot 2 inches high. We want you to enjoy the slow pace of Cornwall and love the relaxation of our cottage. You will be able to access the cottage by code and we are available to contact if needed. Otherwise you will have free reign of our family retreat :-) We hope you will love and respect it as much as we do. Ludgvan is one of those quiet retreats city folk often dream about. There is a local pub, 'The White Hart' about 50m up the road, an old church (14th/15th Century) which still rings its bells on Sunday mornings. Nearby Attractions we recommend ; * St Michael's Mount * St Ives * Loads of local bars/wine bars/village pubs (within driving distance) * Lands End * Godrevy beach (with great seal watching potential) * The Isles of Scilly (taking the ferry from Penzance) *Great beaches for surfing, kite surfing, walking, bird watching. Penzance train station is the end of the Cornish Main Line from Plymouth and with this comes a comprehensive tourist information building and bus station. From here you can catch the bus to the telephone box just outside of the church in Ludgvan. However, due to the out of the way location we would recommend having your car. There is road parking outside the property.
