Comfortable bunkhouse and hostel style accommodation with a touch of luxury and style, situated in the beautiful Brecon Beacons and convenient for lots of activities, tourist attractions and places to visit in this popular part of Wales. (Website hidden by Airbnb) The old stone and oak beamed cow shed has been converted into welcoming accommodation for up to 14 people in three bedrooms, pillow and pillowcases along with a base sheet is provided, with three individual shower/toilet rooms providing plenty of hot water, shaving and hair drying facilities after a long day exploring this wonderfully interesting area. We live on the farm and will be available should you have any questions! We have 2 very friendly dogs who love to run around the farm and especially love children. The Bunkhouse is situated in the charming and historic village of Trecastle, 15 to 20 minutes from the county town of Brecon and the same distance from the market and ancient drovers town of Llandovery in the other direction.Being within the Brecon Beacons National Park we benefit from the wonderful scenery and quiet country life associated with the area. Wildlife, flora and fauna abound and there are many activities and country pursuits to keep you occupied during your stay. Gentler pursuits such as nature walks, bird watching (this is Red Kite country) and exploring ancient castles, houses and monuments are all available to the visitor. The National Botanical Gardens of Wales is a short drive away and there are many old market towns full of antique shops and craft centres nearby. The famous “town of books” Hay-on-Wye is about 45mins away via Brecon. A stroll round Brecon may bring you to it’s famous small cathedral or to it’s indoor market. You could perhaps take a canal boat trip and end up with a pre-show meal before an entertaining evening at the lovely new theatre. The town boasts a range of shops including a number of large supermarkets. Apart from walking directly from the bunkhouse, there are mountain bike routes for experienced and inexperienced riders. If you are feeling energetic a nearby centre offers rock climbing, rope work and ice face climbing. Pony trekking, caving, canoeing, fishing and other activities are close by. External storage & drying room and bike washing facilities are available for guest use.
