Cois Cuan will accomadate 6-7 people comfortably and sleep upto 9/10. Various outside seating has been provided along with use of a barbecue and fire pit. Fibre optic broadband and Amazon TV. The South facing conservatory receives dappled light most of the day so it doesnt overheat and is a comfy space to hang out. The conservatory also makes an extra breakfast room space as it joins onto the dining room. The kitchen and diner are quite small, but perfectly adequate. Loads of room outside when its dry, smoking is fine outside. The sea view to garnish Island is small from the living room, but opens up very close to the driveway. The location of the cottage is so close to Garnish Island and other small neighbouring islands that it has great shelter and a micro climate. The front of the house is a sun trap from May onwards. Note: There is NO highchair; baby gates or cot provided. if bringing an infant please bring a travel cot. There is a very wide open space for relaxing in the garden, but smallies need minding as there is no fencing and the sea is close by as well as drains close to the house. It is not advisable to let young children wander out of the property. Kitchen has oven, hob, grill, 4 slice toaster and microwave, everything required for basic cooking, including a few herbs/spices - Tea and coffee provided. Smart TV in the living room with options of amazon prime / Netflix; Fibre Optic Broadband very good in 1 half of the cottage. An ideal location for those that like like to be tucked away in a private and tranquil setting while remaining close enough to various activities. An abundance of swim spots; hikes; walks and cycle routes. We can provide an additional activitiy for your stay at the cottage. Hot tub hire for the week - An excellent 4-6 person Hydrojet and bubbles Hot Tub in the garden under the stars. Lots and lots of bubbles plus 2 super stong hydrojets in each corner (8 hydrojets) for that deep muscle massage experience. Very importantly, the hot tub is electric so always hot and easy to operate. An easy on lid with child safety locks. We recommend Bantry Bay Charters in Glengarriff for a wide range of fishing / atlantic wildlife tours / scuba diving. Group and family charters to suit your needs. Outdoor Ireland Activity or Kayaking with the seals Adrigole are both local knowledgable kayak intructors that come highly recommended. Head down the scenic Beara Way or carry on through the village heading towards Bantry (From Bantry its possible to head out to The very scenic Mizen Head or Sheeps Head penninsula) In Glengarriff village there are a few good places to eat and lots of bars to chose from. The Blue Loo Bar; Maple Leaf Bar and Caseys Hotel are popular with locals and visitors. Close to the house, only 1km walk away is Glengarriff caravan and camping park offering lovely food through the summer and spacious family bar. Lots of amenities available that are just a few minutes drive away. Swimming at Blue Pool or Ellens Rock; Sugar Loaf Mountain hiking; Cycling the Beara Way - there is an annual Ring of Beara Cycle in late May and September. There is an abundance of Walks and nature in Glengarriff everywhere you look, local trekking of the Caha mountains and gentle trails through Glengarriff Nature Reserve; Barley Lake; Cromwells Bridge. Fishing, whale watching & scuba. Zetland beach. 'Bantry Bay Charters' have a brilliant selection of acommodating boat tours off the pier in Glengarriff. Ewe Gardens & Bamboo Park are worth a look on a more relaxing day. There is a popular Golf club as you drive into the village from Bantry that cater for both new and advanced golfers. Lots of local beauty spots only a short drive away. Once in the village, walking around will bring you to some lovely picnic spots like The Nature Reserve; Blue Pool Ferry; Blue Pool Swimming; Kids Playground all have picnic space. Cycling is a brilliant way to get around at the moment and we are situated just off the popular annual Beara cycle route. There is a very good swimming spot (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) mins walk away at Ellens Rock. Moderate climate all year and sheltered bays are increasing the popularity of open water swimming in Glengarriff. Please dont litter around Glengarriff, bring it home as we have supplied bins for recycling. Please be respectful of the locals especially on the drive to and from the house. Its a narrow road so keep the speed down allowing time to pull in for passing.
