The fashionable beach resort of Pescara is a 45 minute drive. It is also a small fishing & ferry port, with an excellent fish market, open in the mornings. Ferry destinations include Croatia. The cycle and footway that runs along the Adriatic coast is a popular place for locals to promenade & socialise. Pennapiedimonte is an hour away from Pescara Airport; Ancona Airport is 2 hours and Rome Ciampino/Fiumicino around 2 1/2.
