Casa Falmenta - cozy mountain retreat with a view
Welcome to our cosy mountain retreat! In addition to endless walking possibilities and a breathtaking panoramic view Casa Falmenta offers: 2 bedrooms, sleeping up to 5, fully equipped kitchen, separate living room with sofa bed and wood stove, spacious bathroom with walk-in shower and window, spectacular double terrace, landscaped gardens and stone picnic table shaded by grapevines, internet and satellite TV, local markets with Italian delicacies and most daily staples, non-smoking house Perched on the side of the outstandingly beautiful Valle Cannobina, Casa Falmenta occupies the perfect location for the keen walker and relaxer. Situated in an area rich in unspoilt nature, signposted footpaths lead from the cottage to neighbouring villages, gorges, natural pools and mountain peaks. Boasting possibly the best view in the village, the house comprises two bedrooms, a kitchen, a dining area, a separate lounge, spacious bathroom, panoramic balcony and a spectacular double terrace with sunny southern exposure overlooking the valley – yet without being overlooked. Each room has a wonderful view with windows that open fully, as if one could step out into the air! To one side of the house nestles a vine-covered stone table overlooking neighbouring Crealla. Sit in the shade of the palm tree or bask in the sun while listening to the far-off bells of the Campanile. Decorated in Italian country style, the cottage is ideal for both indoor and outdoor living. Casa Falmenta sleeps four people comfortably (our first bedroom offers a King sized bed and the second two twins which fit well together if necessary). In addition, a high quality single sofa bed in the lounge is available for an extra guest should this be required. The living area boasts a wood stove; a cellar means ample space for airing walking clothes, boots or storing bicycles. We have a washer and dryer which is still considered a luxury in this area! Cook authentic meals in the modern kitchen (gas stovetop and electric oven) using mouth-watering ingredients from the travelling village market - and ask us for the best deals on local wines and handmade pasta! Built in 1908, Casa Falmenta stems from a long tradition of high quality workmanship, and as a result the house stays warm in the winter and cool during the summer months. The mountain climate means that even hot summer nights become cool enough to sleep properly. The house is well-insulated and heated by wood stoves or oil radiators. Should walking-weariness earn you an evening in, relax by the wood stove, play games or watch satellite TV, make use of the DVD player, or just sit and contemplate the view.
