Luxury villa with private swimming pool set in a stunning location enjoying panoramic views across to Spain. With an exquisite interior decor and spacious outdoor terraces, the villa is a fabulous home-from-home. Children can play in the pool all day, adults can relax on the sunbeds, and in the evening, enjoy a poolside sundowner and al-fresco BBQ dinner. Peaceful and picturesque location - with excellent facilities and courses for golfing enthusiasts. Village and beach around 10 minutes by car. This spacious 3 bedroom link-villa radiates elegance from the moment you enter. Opposite the main entrance is a superbly equipped kitchen with polished black marble worktops and an open servery to the large wooden dining table with high back chairs, overlooking the cosy lounge adorned with beautiful accessories and 2 large sofas. The ground floor living space also includes 2 tastefully furnished bedrooms, with single beds that can be separated or used as a large double bed, both of which have private ensuite shower rooms. The master bedroom suite occupies the entire first floor with an opulent décor, a balcony overlooking the pool and a stunning ensuite bathroom with separate shower and bathtub. Outside living is a joy in this villa, with a dining patio with retractable awning for shade, a choice of brick or gas BBQ ideal for al fresco dining, whilst paved terraces are adorned with colourful potted plants and shrubs around the deliciously sparkling swimming pool. The comfy sofas placed perfectly overlooking the lake are blissful in the evening to sit under the stars and look towards the sparkling lights of Ayamonte town just on the Spanish border. There is also an excellent range of facilities at the clubhouse, which are available to guests. This is a private accommodation and guests will be able to access all advertised areas and use all advertised facilities. There are 2 bedrooms conveniently located on the ground floor, with master bedroom suite reached by internal staircase. Parking is directly outside the villa, without a charge. ARRIVING AT THE PROPERTY: It is our intention to meet you in person at the property on your arrival, but during the pandemic situation, local regulations must be adhered to and this may not be possible. Some of our properties have key safety boxes and you will be informed of the code in advance. For properties without this facility, we will arrange for a key collection from our local office or meet you at the property. Either way we will always be available for assistance if required. Until further notice, please ensure that you wear masks and observe distancing rules when meeting any of our representatives. CHECK-IN TIMES: Please note check-in times are between 16.00h and 19.00h and we will try to be flexible with arrival times outside of these hours. For early arrivals, it may be possible to offer a “bag drop” facility. For later arrivals, there may be the key safety box facility. If not, and we are required to meet you in person for a late-night check in, the following fees will apply: 19.00 - 22.00h 15€ 22.00h - 24.00h 20€ We will ensure that you are well-informed of the specific key collection details. WHAT TO EXPECT ON ARRIVAL: For your arrival, the property will be clean and well-presented and we will supply: Bed sheets and towels A starter supply of toilet paper Hand soap Sanitizing hand gel Rubbish bags Kitchen Starter Pack of cloth, sponge, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets *Please note under the rules of COVID standards of health and hygiene, we are unable to leave opened condiments and food products in the kitchen. PRIVACY: When booking private accommodation, we like to give you privacy during your stay. However, Smartavillas fully trained personnel are available 24 hours per day should you need assistance of any kind. We are only a phone call away. As this property has a private pool, please remember that access will be required for maintenance/ upkeep. HOLIDAY GUIDE: Smartavillas has a fantastic holiday guide packed with lots of information including points of local interest, activities, and restaurant recommendations. For your convenience, we will send an electronic copy before you arrive and also provide a QR code in the villa. ADDITIONAL CLEANING/SHEET CHANGE As properties are rented on a self-catering arrangement, a daily maid and interim property cleaning service/linen change are not included in the price, but if required, can be provided for an additional charge. Further details available on request. WE KINDLY REQUEST: The house will be well presented for your arrival, and departure cleaning is included in the rental value. However, we do ask for a respectful co-operation with the removal of rubbish, and that BBQ facilities are cleaned of food and debris before you leave. Charges will be incurred if it is deemed that the property is left in an unacceptable condition. DEPARTURE DAY: Unfortunately, all good things must come to an end! - and on departure day, check out time is requested at 10.00h. We will contact you towards the end of your stay to confirm this. We may be able to offer a later departure time only if there are no guests arriving on the same day. Unfortunately, however, this is unlikely in the summer months due to high volumes of reservations. The villa is part of the prestigious Castro Marim Golfe & Country Clube with snack bar and restaurant on-site. 3 traditional restaurants can be found in the nearby vllage of Monte Francisco, but for a wider choice, guests should visit the vibrant town of Castro Marim. CASTRO MARIM This compact fortified town on the margins of the expansive Guadiana river boasts a rich history dating back to Roman times. Overlooking vast salt flats and bordered by the Reserva Natural do Sapal de Castro Marim, there is much to offer the visitor. White washed houses align narrow cobbled streets winding up to the impressive castle fortifications, whose construction was ordered by King Alfonso III during the XIII Century, with presence on this strategic site dating back to the bronze age. While away a lazy afternoon visiting the castle grounds and enjoy a favourite tipple in one of several bars and cafes dotted along pretty tranquil streets. For provisions, several mini-markets offer the basics, while larger supermarkets and an excellent selection of shopping facilities can be found in the nearby handsome border town of Vila Real do Santo António, just a short drive away. Cuisine: Several traditional eateries can be found within Castro Marim itself, while country restaurants dotted in the surrounding olive covered lands and small nearby villages, such as Monte Francisco, provide perfect spots to sample hearty meals at very reasonable prices. For a greater selection, and for delicious seafood, head to Vila Real where the daily catch is served simply grilled with flavoursome local produce. Or head across the border, via ferry or road, to the vibrant Andalusian town of Ayamonte, where pretty tile bedecked squares and cosy cafes and restaurants serve varied and appetizing tapas. Beaches: You are never far from a fabulous sun-drenched golden beach on the Algarve and the nearby stretch of sands from Vila Real heading west do not disappoint. Boasting many Blue Flag distinctions of excellence, the beaches along this coast are expansive, slowly sloping and backed by golden dunes. Whether is be at Vila Real, ever popular Monte Gordo or chic Praia Verde, there is a beach for all occasions! Nature: Head to the local Reserva Natural for excellent birdwatching or simply for walks or cycling along the various trails. Take a boat trip along the meandering Guadiana to witness marine and bird life along this majestic river which forms a natural border between Portugal and Spain, or head west to the vast Ria Formosa Natural Park, a haven for countless birdlife and with a unique flora and fauna Activities: Golf is never far away and the superb courses at Castro Marim and Monte Rei offer first rate facilities amongst lush, manicured surroundings. For the more adventurous, try water sports at the many local beaches including kite surfing, wind surfing or paddle boarding. Country lanes heading inland into the sparsely populated undulating interior offer excellent opportunities for mountain or road biking, or why not try some tennis at the excellent sports facilities in Vila Real? For more sedate pleasures, then the salt and mud baths at Castro Marim, within a working salt farm, provide a great diversion from the beach for the day… The on site facilities offer food, beverages and golf. For a full choice of amenities, a trip to Castro Marim is necessary. For this reason, the use of a car is essential when renting this property • Train - The nearest stop to the property is at Castro Marim - 10 minutes by car / taxi. • Bus – Buses run across the entire Algarve coastline and the nearest stop is in the village of Monte Francisco - 20 minutes walk. • Taxi – There is no rank or pick up point in the immediate vicinity. However, Smartavillas offer taxi services, and the contact details will be displayed inside your rental property. • Smartavillas can also arrange airport transfers for any number of passengers, private travel services to and from places of interest and competitive rates for car hire. TOURIST TAXES & PASSPORT INFORMATION: Some municipalities within the Eastern Algarve region have now introduced a Tourist Tax, where charges of around 1€ per person per night are applied to a maximum of 7 nights. This charge is levied by the Government, not Smartavillas. You will be informed in advance if you are required to pay this, which will be required in cash on arrival, with a receipt issued for payment confirmation. It is also lawful requirement for all non-Portuguese nationals to provide us with passport details for data entry into the national immigration records.
