The North Cornwall coast is just half an hour's drive away and Dartmoor is just fifteen minutes away by car. There are numerous countryside walks and cycle rides in the area including the Granite Way which runs from Okehampton to Lydford, a completely traffic free cycle route. Due to the rural nature of our location, public transport is limited. A car is necessary to reach us. There are a number of cycle trails (disused railways) a short car drive away and the lanes around the village, although hilly, are suitable for cycling and walking. Unless we are instructed otherwise, the shower is open for use. Please bring your own shower gel and shampoo. We ask all guests to clean the shower and basin when you have finished washing. Cleaning products are provided for your use. If you wish to use the pizza oven please let us know before you arrive and note that it takes 3 hours to reach temperature, full instructions will be provided. We can supply pizza dough bases and wood, for which there is an additional charge. There is also a campfire area in the orchard, next to the camping area, which can be used for BBQ or for toasting marshmallows etc. In order to reduce waste, please take left over food home or place in the food waste bucket next to the recycling bins. Please also recycle all your cardboard, plastic, tins, glass and paper. Currently, we do not have a specific washing up area. Each tent is equipped with a washing up bowl, washing up liquid, tea towel and dish cloth. Guests are expected to heat up water on their stove and wash up at their own dining shelter.
