Cosy 2 bedroom flat decorated in a pretty vintage style in a quiet Victorian Terrace with onstreet parking in the centre of Bridgend. Easy walking distance to train, bus stations, shops & restaurants. Nicole is an author & domestic historian and has decorated this flat to reflect the Pretty Nostalgic style of her books. Almost every item is either vintage, antique, upcycled or cleverly repurposed. However, there are some new items where hygiene and practicality requires them. Eco products used. We look forward to welcoming you to our home. We have really enjoyed furnishing and decorating Marlborough Flat and have used many family heirlooms and vintage treasures. If you prefer a minimal modern style, then this may not be the accommodation for you, but if you like a hint of nostalgia and respect traditional things then you will love staying here. The flat is compact but totally functional for 4 people and is fully equipped with everything you will need, In the kitchen/sitting room there is : 2 seater leather sofa, TV with DVD player, radio/cd player, a usb charging plug, access to WIFI and a wonderful selection of vintage games and books. Pine table with chairs The Kitchen area has a fridge, electric 4 ring hob and oven, electric slow cooker, kettle, toaster, selection of vintage teacups, mugs, glassware, cutlery, teapots, coffee pots, pots and pans. There is a cupboard to store your own food plus basic supplies such as tea, coffee, milk, condiments, bread and butter will be provided - Vegetarian, Vegan alternatives can be provided. There is also an iron and ironing board. Sorry there is no microwave as we don't like them and much of the china in the flat is not microwave friendly. Also there is no freezer at the moment, but we hope to add one soon. The Master bedroom is decorated with a pretty vintage bird wallpaper which is duck egg blue, the pink curtains were made by Nicole from beautiful 1930s vintage fabric, which she bought in a local charity shop for £1.50! There is a comfortable standard double bed, a dressing table with mirror and hairdryer, single wardrobe with skirt and shirt hangers, a reading chair and bookcase. Also included is a selection of books, sewing kit and pretty lamps. The second bedroom is painted wedgwood blue and is equipped with adult sized bunk beds, a single wardrobe with skirt and shirt hangers, hand painted white wall shelves a chair and mirror. The Shower room is decorated with a vintage seaside theme (the famous Coney beach and the traditional holiday resort of Porthcawl is very nearby) There is a corner shower, basin and duel flush WC. Eco friendly and organic products are provided, including shampoo, conditioner, shower gel and soap. Face cloths, bath and hand towels are also provided. Marlborough Flat has its own private access via an alley way to the side of Marlborough House. Please come to the House first to pick up the key and say hello. Access to the Flat is available from 2pm on the day of booking and must be vacated by 10.00 on the day of departure. There is Easy on-street parking - it can be busy during week days, however after 5.00pm and at the weekend there are plenty of spaces available right outside. We are available to help at any point during your stay. Tourist and local information is available in the flat but if you need to know anything give us a knock or send me a text. We live busy working lives so we may not always be onsite, but will aim to always be contactable. A quiet Victorian residential area, very close to the centre of town and a great base if visiting friends or relatives in Bridgend or anywhere in South Wales area. Bridgend has great restaurants, shops, takeaways and pubs. Within 15 minutes walk of The Princess of Wales Hospital. Short drive or 25 minute walk to McArthur Glen Retail Park and The Odeon Cinema. 5 Minutes walk to Tesco, Aldi and Asda. Within 5 minutes drive of The M4, 5 minutes walk to Bridgend train and bus stations and a short drive or bus journey to the National Express stop at Sarn Park. Cardiff is 20 minutes by train and trains run every 20 minutes, so this is a great base for rugby fans. Local buses run to Porthcawl, the Valleys, Cowbridge, Cardiff and Swansea and the coast. We have a dog, a small Jack Russell called Josie, who is very friendly, and will be kept away from our guests (unless you specifically tell us otherwise).
