Immerse yourself in this unique and tranquil escape surrounded by woodland and flowing water. The Waterfall Retreat is a stunning stone house, once a working Mill originating in the 16th century. It has a private waterfall, pond and extensive gardens to explore. Located only 15 minutes from Glasgow International Airport, 25 minutes from Glasgow, and 30 minutes from some of the most beautiful coastline in Scotland. Modernised and recently renovated to ensure a comfortable and restorative stay. There are two bedrooms and a bathroom with on ground level, both with beautiful hardwood sleigh beds, comfortable Emma mattresses and ample storage space for you. The master bedroom has a breathtaking view of the outside space- lie back in bed and watch the birds and beautiful flow of water. The bathroom has a gorgeous original cast iron bath (once featured in the TV series, Dr Finlays Casebook) as well as a shower. Upstairs is a open plan living dining area with restored Apa wood floorboards and a vaulted ceiling. There are several comfy seating areas where you can relax and a characterful wood burner to keep you toasty A sound system, Alexa and Chromecast TV is provided for you to enjoy music and programs of your choice. The kitchen is fully equipped with an induction hob, dishwasher, toaster, kettle, microwave and fridge. Outside there is a large wooded area to wander in, a flowing river, a holding pool and seating where you can enjoy the mesmerising view of the Roebank Burn as it plunges over the steep precipice while sipping a drink. You can even brave a dip into the natural water surrounded by the rocky ravine and wild vegetation - a magical experience. Despite being so close to the buzzing city of Glasgow, the Waterfall Retreat is a rural oasis, set in beautiful countyside, just on the edge of the small town of Beith. There is wonderful open landscape to explore by foot or bike on your doorstop, with far reaching views of Ben Lomond and Ben Ledi on a clear day. Castle Semple Loch and Clyde Murshiel Regional Park are short distances away and offer stunning landscapes and Watersports. The town of Beith has a quaint centre and large Co-op grocery store with a wide range of foods including a good organic section. Glasgow city is 25 minutes away by car should you fancy some fine dining, art, theatre or night life. Only 30 minutes away is the West of Scotland coastline offering some of the most breathtaking vistas in Scotland, sandy beaches, pretty costal towns and fantastic day trips to the Isles of Arran, Cumbrae and Bute. Best way to get around here is by car, however if you want to arrive by taxi and enjoy the abundance of walks in the beautiful countryside locally that can work too. If you are coming by train the local station is Lochwinnoch, from where you can get a taxi (pre-book). There is bus stop near the main road about 10 minutes walk away. Distance from the airport is 15 minutes and Glasgow City Centre is 25 minutes. The stunning Ayrshire beaches are a 25 minute drive away. This is a vegetarian and shoe-free home so we request you do not consume meat at the Waterfall Retreat and please leave your outdoor shoes in the hall near the front door. Bring your slippers! The Waterfall Retreat is great place to spot wildlife including bats, woodpeckers and deer. There is also a heron that regularly visits us. The plumbing of the Waterfall Retreat is very old which means you have to look after it and be patient for the hot water to come through to the shower (2-3 minutes).
