Located in the picturesque village of Foolow in the centre of the Peak District National Park. Foolow (originally "la foulowe" - 1284) meaning a hill frequented by birds, is one of the hidden gems of the Peak District. Within easy travel to many Peak District attractions and walks. We warmly welcome well behaved doggies. After your adventures exploring the Peak District, put your feet up and relax in front of the cosy log burner or enjoy a glass or 2 sat out on the stone terrace. There is an open-plan kitchen equipped with all the amenities needed for a self catered holiday. Off street parking along with a secure lock-up if required. The complete cottage is yours for the entire length of your stay. You can easily contact me for advise etc, by mobile. We only live down the road. In Foolow with its attractive village green and pampered ducks, you will find the quaint church of St Hugh as well as the very popular and inviting Bulls Head Inn with its traditional food and ales. A short drive will get you to most places of interest, including Chatsworth, Bakewell, Castleton and Buxton. There are many easily accessible walks direct from the cottage. One of them is a short walk to the famous Barrel inn at Bretton with its stunning views over the valley. Another short walk will take you via the well hidden waterfall swallow en route to the historic plague village of Eyam The closet village shop is Eyam. There is a spar down the road in Calver. The nearest market town is Bakewell. With a good range of shops and cafes. 15mins to the local train station in Grindleford. Giving easy access to Sheffield and Manchester.
