A quiet, end-terrace cottage in Huntly, off the main streets but in easy walking distance to the train station and the town centre. The cosy living room is fitted with an efficient log burning stove, and you will find a basket of wood on your arrival. The kitchen is located at the back of the building with access to a small, enclosed garden perfect for a slow breakfast in the sun or an evening drink on the lawn. We look forward to hosting you! You enter the house from the street where you can park your car right in front. A stairway is leading you to the bathroom upstairs. This has a bathtub with shower included. The living room downstairs is carpeted, with chairs and a log-burning stove. There is a sound system at the bottom of the bookshelf which you can use by plugging in your mobile or another device. The living room has a sofa bed and two chairs. The bedroom is located downstairs next to the living room. It has a window facing the garden. The bed can be arranged as two singles or a double - please let us know how you would like it. We can provide an extra mattress to put on the floor for a child. The kitchen is equipped for someone who likes cooking. The semi-professional gas cooker might excite you if you like stir-fries or a quick omelette. The kitchen is functional but not glamorous. It has all you need, including dishwasher, washing machine, fridge and a table that can easily seat 6 people. From the kitchen, you can enter the enclosed garden. Here you find a small table with two chairs on the lawn as well as a washing line that can be used. Bikes are in the wooden shed. Feel free to use them. I cannot guarantee that they are in full working condition, but I will service them twice a year. You can access the whole house except for one room upstairs which I use as a service room and for some personal belongings. You can let yourself into the house via a key in a hidden key box. I will let you know how to access this before you arrive. During your stay, you can message or phone if there is anything you need, and I will get back to you as soon as possible. Huntly is a unique place, it is quiet and busy at the same time. People are friendly and chatty, and there is everything you need - shops, pubs, a monthly farmers' market, a swimming pool, community organisations and lots of outdoor activities. Explore the walks in the vicinity, whether it is a stroll at Battlehill or walk to Huntly's historic castle. Join the locals for a pint in the town's pubs or a swim at the local swimming pool or in the river Deveron (if you like cold water). Huntly lends itself as a destination for various interesting day trips: walks up Bennachie, Sunnyside Beach including Findlater Castle near Cullen, combined with an icecream in Portsoy. You can also take a trip by bike to Rothiemay for example. You will find recommendations for small and big adventures on the shelf in my living room. My house is 5 min walk from the train station (Aberdeen - Inverness), and 5 min walk from the main square of Huntly. Supermarkets are in walking distance. From the Square, there are several bus lines connecting into all directions (Aberdeen - Inverness as well as more local connections north and south). Huntly has car share facilities (co-wheels). Two bikes, one with a child seat, are available for use in my garden shed. I will service them twice a year but can take no responsibility for any flat tires or minor issues. Use of bikes is free of charge, but please look after them an return them as you found them. The house does not have a TV.
