Tatras Lodge: spacious chalet on the river bank

Hidden away in peaceful Pribylina in the sought after High Tatra mountains, this luxurious solid wood house is only 15 minutes from the bustling town of Liptovsky Mikulas. Alpine and x-country skiing, hot springs and luxury spas are close-by, while hiking, mountain and road biking and water sports are only a few minutes away in the warm summers. Of course, if the wood-burning stove or sun-trapped decking make it difficult for you to leave some days, you'll find everything you need at the lodge. Tatras Lodge has four bedrooms (three doubles and a quad), three bathrooms and an additional wc; a well-equipped kitchen including washing machine, dishwasher and microwave; hall and a spacious living area with wood burning stove, two x six seat sofas, television and Wi-Fi. This spacious accommodation is divided over two floors with the downstairs living, kitchen and dining areas all reaching up into the vaulted ceiling. Outside, the large decked patio is ideal for long lunches and sun-lovers or anyone simply wishing to kick back. The attractive garden area runs all around the lodge providing shade, sun, play areas and dens. The gardens lead down to the river for paddling, swimming and light dinghies or an ice cold dip after a stint in the sauna*. At night, why not retire to the stone circle to catch the sunset or use the fire pit for a barbecue and marshmallow toasting? Barbecue facilities also provided. *paid extra The entire house is accessible to guests (bar one locked cupboard - of cleaning products - and loft space). The outdoors, wooden sauna is available for rent*, with exclusive, unlimited use for the duration of your stay. Extra towels provided and don't forget the path down to the (ice cold!) river if you're exceptionally brave... *Charged extra, please enquire! Unfortunately we don't live at Tatras Lodge (shame, how nice would that be!) but we are lucky to have the help of a fantastic Slovak family, who are the loveliest of people. Access is gained through a secure key box, and throughout your stay, our key holders will be on hand if you have any queries or difficulties. Son, Milan, is your most likely contact during the stay. He speaks Slovak and English and was brought up in the next village so knows everything about the house and the area. Tatras Lodge is situated in a secluded corner of a small, quiet hamlet on the riverbank. The neighbours are predominantly Slovak residents but with a sizeable minority of Slovak and Czech holiday home owners as well as a few British residents or holiday home owners. Although it's entirely possible to not meet another person during your stay, the community is really warm and friendly and would help anybody should they need it! There is a local bus service connecting with the local villages and Liptovsky Mikulas, and train stations in Liptovsky Hradok (five minute taxi ride) as well as Mikulas, but for stays of longer than a few days, a hire car would be useful. For keen cyclists, the roads and mountain bike trails are well-made and plentiful and we have stayed for a week at the house, comfortably using our bikes and the odd taxi for all transport and food shopping. Dear Guests, In these incredibly difficult, unpredictable times, we are onboard with AirBnB’s emergency cancellation policy which is to return all payments for holidays booked before 20 March 2020 scheduled up to the end of December 2020, should you be forced to cancel due to travel restrictions. For stays post 31 December 2020, we are offering our own personal guarantee that we will refund the whole booking cost up to seven days before your holiday is due to start, should you have to cancel your stay due to a Covid-related travel ban. This is, of course, something which will be kept under review until the threat of Covid-19 is gone. In non-Covid-19 related circumstances, our normal cancellation policy applies. Of course, if you’d prefer to simply transfer your booking to the same or a different time next year or perhaps later on this year, then we can do that for you. Not only would it be comforting for you to have something booked for the future, with no extra hassle, it would be extremely helpful for us to know we hadn’t lost all our bookings and we’d be very grateful for your support.
