Cornish Coastal Cottage in a Fabulous Location
Arriving at Headlands, you will say, wow. Just two minutes from the famous SW Coastal Path, 19 Headlands won't disappoint. Furnished in a simple rustic style, tucked behind the ex-Headlands Hotel, it has everything needed for a lovely break. As one guest wrote recently, "loved it, simple but short of nothing will definitely book again”. Walks and beaches surround the cottage. Stroll down the Headland to the village, and you find shops, the Paris pub, some great restaurants and the harbour. 19 Headlands is tucked behind the ex- Headland Hotel. It's a perfect base to explore the surrounding area. Located on the beautiful south Cornish coast on Chynhall's Point, it is two minutes walk from the famous SW Coastal path. Coverack is a stunning location. Beautiful walks and sandy beaches surround it. From the cottage, you can stroll down the Headland to the village (it takes about ten mins) where you will find local shops, the friendly Paris pub, some great restaurants and the pretty harbour. 19 Headlands is a mid-terrace, two-storey cottage about 100 years old, located in the lovely and well-maintained gardens of the ex-Headlands Hotel. Walk out of the front door, turn right a few steps into the gardens, and you will be stunned by the view - it's just amazing. The cottage is double glazed and has a spacious living room, kitchen and three bedrooms. In fact, when going there, we often open a bottle of wine in the kitchen for the evening meal, and that’s where we end up staying chatting about life, Brexit, Donald Trump or whether Abba are going to reform, amongst other topics! As mentioned, there are three bedrooms, which are composed of two with double beds and one with a single bed. One of the bedrooms has a beautiful view of the Headland; the other two have lovely views over the gardens. The Headlands communal gardens are for you to enjoy and have fabulous views. There are benches and grass spaces to have a picnic overlooking the spectacular sea and stunning coastline. The gardens are great for just chilling out in and reading a book with the sound of the waves and birdlife to keep you company. At times you can see dolphins and seals playing in the sea. There is a TV in the house just in case you want to watch an episode of Poldark, and why not it's got some fabulous shots of Cornwall. 19 Headlands, as mentioned, is a two-story cottage, and the whole property is for you to use. There is also a communal tennis court for you to enjoy. A short walk away is the footpath to the private Mears beach, which is accessed by walking down the Headlands footpath - it takes around 8 minutes to reach it. At times the waves are good enough to surf, and body surfing is a must. You will often spot seals hunting fish in the surrounding coast as you approach the end point of the Headlands. Sorry, I can't be there to meet you as I live in Argentina (I use the cottage when I am in the UK ) however, I am very contactable if you book and we can communicate on the internet if you need anything. Carrie, our housekeeper, lives very near the cottage and is there to help should there be any problems. Also, you will find the other owners very friendly and willing to help should you need to know anything. If there is an emergency, we have back up tradespeople to call, and they will sort out any problems that may occur in the property. The cottage is part of the ex - Coverack ex - Headlands Hotel complex. The main house was converted to apartments around 30 years ago. 19 Headlands is one of three original cottages. They were built for the workers when the hotel was in existence. Chynhall's Point, where the house is located, is just stunning. Both the main house and cottages have been renovated this year (2018). As mentioned, walk a few steps, and you will have one of the most amazing views in the UK - simply stunning. Have breakfast in the gardens opposite the cottage overlooking the magnificent coastline, and you will probably still be there for lunch! Coverack village is a typical lovely Cornish village with its pretty harbour and sandy beaches. Here eating fish and chips on the harbour benches as the children jump from the harbour wall into the sea is a local pastime — try it, you'll love it, no matter how old you are! Have a pint in the friendly Paris pub and then a walk along the coastal village path - it will soothe your soul. The area is famous for its walks, and if that is why you want to come, believe me, you won't be disappointed - it's a walkers haven. Coverack is also near to some spectacular sights such as the Lizard, Lands End, St Michael's Mount and Poldarks mine, to name just a few. These locations are all within easy striking distance, and believe me; they are definitely worth visiting. Of course, you could quickly lose a week just staying around the cottage reading a book or two, going for a stroll now and then before having an afternoon nap in preparation for the evening meal — bliss. 19 Headlands has two allocated parking spaces. This is a real bonus as parking at the height of the season in Coverack can be a tricky act. There is internet in the cottage. Please note........... We provide bed linen and towels, but please bring your own beach towels. The cottage has a stairgate, high chairs and a travel cot. Entire House Carrie our house keeper will make sure you are looked after and will probably contact you at least once to make sure you are ok It's just amazing, believe me. The views, the beach, the gardens, the harbour its all overwhelmingly beautiful Pets are allowed, but we make a small change for each pet of £25 per stay.
