Croeso, Welcome! To our cosy and traditional welsh miners cottage. Settled at the base of Snowdon in the Llanberis Pass. Our home is equal distance between Glyder Fawr, Llanberis Slate Quarries and Pen Y Pass, all accessible by foot. In the heart of Snowdonia National Park and close to all local amenities and attractions. From a relaxing family week away, a romantic break to an adventurous climbing weekend with friends - our home is the perfect base for your stay in the mountains! Our cosy and charming cottage is the perfect combination of traditional welsh with all the modern amenities. The cottage itself is made of stone, with its thick exposed walls throughout the house and a traditional welsh slate flagstone floor. On the ground floor you will find an open plan living room/kitchen area with a conservatry to the rear looking out to the beautiful views of the dramatic descent to the mountains. Relax in front of the fire, perfect for warming up after an adventurous day in the mountains or for stories and toasting marshmallows with the little ones (and grownups!). Upstairs on the first floor you will find two spacious bedrooms, one double and one with two single beds. If you fall asleep with the window open you can listen to the sound of the river that runs behind the house and wake up to the sound of the morning bird song. Our third bedroom, the loft room will be found on the top floor. This light and airy room is a peaceful space. When lying in bed you can fall asleep looking up through the velux window at the stars and wake to the view of Crib Goch through the treetops! ** Please note that this room has access via a ladder and is not suitable for children. We ask that guests under 12 use the first floor bedrooms only due to the steepness of the ladder. This room should only be considered for adults who are able to climb a ladder confidentiality ** The spacious family bathroom has both a shower and a gorgeous roll top bath. The bath is a special feature of our home and one of our favorite places to relax. Placed in front of the large bathroom window with incredible views over Crib Goch and the mountains. We will always leave a jar of Allie's handmade, magnesium and organic lavender bath salts for you stay - perfect for a post Snowdon climb and soothing those achy muscles! To the rear of the property you will have access to the garden. The charm of these old mining cottages means the garden is located several steps away from the back of the cottage. With the backdrop of the mountains, it is the perfect place to enjoy when the North Wales sun comes to say hello! A sitting/dining area can be found at the back of the garden, where you'll find the last of the evening sun and can sit to enjoy an evening meal. You have full use of our BBQ and fire pit. And for the little ones, we even have a bug hotel! The sunsets and view of the Llanberis pass from the garden, will add a touch of magic to your stay and very special. Parking for the property is on the street. With space for one car, this is to ensure our neighbors are able to park outside their own homes. If you plan to bring more than one car during your stay, please discuss parking options with Allie when booking. Please note that for guests wishing to add a dog to their booking, this will be charged at £20 per stay. This is to cover additional cleaning as we ensure a deep clean is done after every fury guest that comes to stay. We welcome dogs to our home, however are only able to accept two dogs per booking who are well behaved and fully house trained. When requesting to bring your dog, please keep in mind that our garden is not directly behind the house and although it is enclosed it is not dog secure. There are sheep that roam free around the village and your dog should always be kept on a lead. Before and during your stay you will be able to reach us via phone, text or email. Although we will be away from the area and you will have our home to yourselves during your visit, we love interacting with our guests and providing information about the area and helping you create the perfect stay - should you want a little guidance or help! Nant Peris is a safe and peaceful neighbourhood with a close knit community feel. Situated on the Llanberis Pass, this small village sits in front of the most breath taking backdrop of the mountains. Nant Peris sits between Llanberis and Capel Curig on the A4086 in Gwynedd, North Wales. You could not be closer to the mountains when staying in our cottage and if location is important to you, we could not offer better. For those more experienced walkers, Snowdon can be walked from the house. Taking the Llanberis path. For those wanting to take a different route, the park and ride for the Sherpa Service is a short minutes walk from the front door. Meaning you can leave the car at home, jump on the bus and access all of the main routes up the mountain as well as the main attractions of Snowdonia National Park. The cottage is a mere 3km from the Snowdon Mountain Railway (easiest route to the top) and just 5.5km to the Pyg Track from Pen y Pass (suitable for more experienced mountain walkers). There is a local pub a short 100m walk away from the front door called the Vaynol Arms, serving delicious home cooked meals and drinks. There is also a children's playground in the village, great for keeping the little ones busy and burning of some energy! The town of Llanberis is just a short and very beautiful drive (3km) in the opposite direction alongside Llyn Peris and passing the remains of the famous Dolbadarn Castle on the way. Here you will find a great community vibe with local bakeries, places to eat and drink and outdoor equipment shops. Our neighboring towns of Bangor and Betwys-Coedd are a scenic 25 minute or so drive away. Where a whole range of activities can be found. Including the very popular ZipWorld! There is so much to do within Snowdonia National Park - many guests leave saying they need to come back as they could not fit it all in. When staying at Quarrymans Cottage you are in the ideal location to enjoy all that is on offer and to make the most of your time. Although our location is somewhat rural, getting around is actually very easy! Especially during the summer months. This is due to the park and ride just down the street. The Sherpa Service links all of the main routes and attractions of Snowdonia National Park and means if you like, the car can be left at home. Just check the times first so you don't miss the last route home! For those wanting to use a car, this will give you access to lots more places and does come in handy!
