Hello, my home is a 19thC farmhouse set in the tranquil, rural countryside of North Burgundy, We offer Bed & Breakfast - with a double-bed guestroom. The private bathroom is just opposite in the corridor. On the landing, there is a table and chairs for your use. Safe Parking in our courtyard or garage. Breakfast included. We speak English & French. Our 1850's restored Farmhouse with its barns, is 1h30 from Paris (A6, Sortie 18 + 12km) in a quiet countryside hamlet situated in the Yonne area of North Burgundy with numerous famous sites around to visit plus promenades in the countryside or along rivers with activities for all ages. Our most local restaurants are 6-10kms away. Famous places to visit and promenade: old mediaeval towns like Joigny(23km), Auxerre, Vézelay, Avallon, St. Fargeau, Guedélon, Rivers Yonne, Cure, Serein; Chablis & other vineyards,.... Activities: golf, karting, paintball, poney club, live music concerts, parachuting, hot air ballooning; tree climbing, canoe, kayaking, pedalo, swimming, .... It is also a great stopping-over point for those en route to the South of France or Switzerland. For going out in the evening there are live concerts of all kinds of music at the weekends & certain days of the week (in café-restaurants, churches, concert halls), there is also a local Cabaret depending on the season... and of course good restaurants! Our courtyard provides safe parking and if needed, we also have a gararge in one of the barns. If you are a family or a group of friends, we have 2 guest bedrooms available, one with a double-bed and the other with 2 single beds; 2 separate & private bathrooms down the corridor, one with a bath, the other with a shower. (You just need to book the other guestroom on the website at the same time). A hearty French-styled breakfast is served either inside or if you wish, outside on the terrace with a view over the fields behind the house. You are welcome to use the 1st floor pleasant private open space with chairs and a table for your own personal use. We have wifi. And please feel free to walk and relax in and around the garden - in the summer we have an outdoor Ping Pong table. Our local town Charny is just some 6kms drive away with all you might need like bakeries, banks, supermarkets, wine shop, garages, the Post Office, cafés and 3 restaurants. There is also a famous gastronomic restaurant in Joigny just 23km away for those who might be interested. This is a perfect place for lovers of French cuisine and wines, especially Burgundy wines! It can also be an ideal calm place for those wishing a retreat.
