Entire Historic townhouse in quaint French village
This renovated stone townhouse has a large open kitchen, stone-walled sitting room, two sunlit bedrooms and a new bathroom on each floor. The house is in a 1,000 year old village in Occitanie province (Languedoc) France. The village is surrounded by vineyards and rolling hills. Explore the countryside or drive to daily farmers markets in nearby villages. Sample wine at local vineyards, explore the historic Cathar villages and Carcassonne, or hike national parks at the foot of the Pyrenees. Guests will make themselves at home in the entire house—relax in the large, open kitchen in front of the wood-burning stove, read or relax in the stone-walled sitting room, take long showers in your choice of two newly remodeled bathrooms, and wake to the morning sun in either of the bright and spacious bedrooms. Feel at home in the entire house. The house has a lockbox with key, allowing guests to come and go as they please. Your hostess, Florence, lives nearby and will be available by phone if any questions arise. The surrounding countryside is beautiful in every direction, with vineyards as far as the eye can see. The town of Limoux is a short 8 kms away and has all services and provisions: grocery stores, bakeries, wineries, restaurants and cafes. There are several charming villages to explore that are within walking distance or a short drive away. Donazac itself is very picturesque and peaceful. Donazac is best reached by car. You can fly into the international airport in Toulouse, a little more than an hour’s drive to the west, or arrive by regional flights or by train in the historic town of Carcassone, 40kms to the east. You will want to rent a car to take full advantage of the area, and to travel to Limoux for basic provisions.
