Built on the foundations of the original village dairy, the Byre now welcomes guests who are looking for somewhere special to stay. The large open plan ground floor is a multi-functional space of living room with wood-burning stove and large kitchen/dining area with hand-crafted solid wood furniture. Chat, dine, watch tv, listen to music, look out of the panoramic patio doors onto the stunning hills, the choice is yours. Above all it's a relaxing space perfect to unwind in. Upstairs there's the spacious master bedroom with romantic kingsize brass bed, chesterfield sofa to relax on and it's own en-suite bathroom. This has a luxury roll-top bath and we even supply the bathsalts, plus there's a separate shower cubicle and toilet. Portable bluetooth speakers. The twin bedroom has a TV / DVD in case guests want to watch different programs, a supply of books, and again plenty of space. The twin room also has its own en-suite shower room and toilet. A secluded south facing decked terrace is accessed by the patio doors off the lounge, and it overlooks the aspen and Scots pine tree lined back garden. This is the perfect spot for lunch or to unwind with a glass of wine watching the light changing on the Cairngorms. Keep an eye out for the red squirrels who like to balance on the top of the glass balcony if you're quiet! There's plenty of parking and a small enclosed lawned front garden. The Byre is self contained and detached. we live in the village so are nearby if needed. Newtonmore is a lovely small Highland village, with a few pubs that serve good food, a post office, medium sized supermarket (co-op), restaurant and cafes, and the Highland Folk Museum (Outlander location) is here too. Caledonian Sleeper stops in the village; the station is about a ten minute walk from The Byre via Golf Course Road. 1hr by car to Inverness, Perth and Fort William, so a great hub for exploring the Highlands. 1 well behaved dog welcome and free - please let us know if you plan to bring a pet. The dog must not be left alone in the property. Please do not allow your dog up on the beds or sofa/soft furnishings - thank you. Please note that our check-in time is 4pm (or anytime after as there is a self-check-in key box) and CHECK OUT by 10am at the latest - thank you for your understanding and for not arriving at the property before 4pm. Most of our changeovers are 'same-day' but we'll message you if we are able to be ready for you any earlier - there are local cafes and things to sight-see if you do arrive in the area ahead of these timings. We hope you understand why we need to adhere to strict check-out timings - we need this time for cleaning and we are committed to making your stay as safe and pleasant as possible.
