Idlers Cottage, in the Somerset village of South Petherton; a hideaway with loads of charm; and feels like someone's home... perfect for a romantic break. Set in our garden alongside a thatched Grade 2 listed house. With its own small patio/garden. Perfect to catch the sun, unwind and enjoy an outdoor meal or a glass of whatever is your fancy. This Somerset hamstone cottage is a 3-minute walk to the village centre which oozes life with butchers, bakers, pub, deli, greengrocers and lots more. The studio cottage has a double bed, freesat TV, DVD player, CD player, Wi-Fi, Woodburner. There is also a storage heater. The dining table doubles up as a work desk if needed. There is en-suite with shower, WC and wash basin. The kitchen area has a halogen hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge, kettle and a range of pots and pans to self-cater in comfort. Access to the cottage is up a 5 steps and then a stepping stone path . We can happily provide a travel cot for a toddler but please let us know in advance of arrival. We provide a starter pack of wood for the woodburner; so there is no delay if you want to light up. Extra wood is available locally. The private patio is a wonderful place to 'chill' after a day exploring the area. We have a selection of books & DVD's if that amuses. Bedding and towels provided. We do not charge extra for cleaning so we ask that the cottage is left in clean condition; with dishes washed etc. There is off-street parking for one vehicle in our driveway. The cottage is reached via a few steps and a stepping stone path. We live on the property in a separate building and are usually around; but always available on phone, email etc. We generally keep a low profile so that you can get on and enjoy your break - but available if required. South Petherton is a lovely village with a large range of shops in the centre. A very short walk from the cottage is a butcher, baker, pub with restaurant, post office, wine shop, library, delicatessen,coffee shop, etc There is a Co-Op convenience store 3 minutes walk from Idlers cottage. The David hall, an even shorter walk from the cottage provides high quality live entertainment and films frequently. There are mainline railway stations at Crewkerne (20 minutes) and Yeovil (25 minutes). A bus service runs from South Petherton to Yeovil every hour during the day. Within a short drive are a number of National Trust and English Heritage properties; as well as atmospheric towns of Sherborne, Bath, Exeter and Glastonbury. The Fleet Air Arm Museum, Haynes motor museum, the Jurassic coast and Cheddar Gorge. The list goes on. Perfectly situated 3 minutes from the A303 and a half hour from the M5 motorway.
