Escape to the woods in this Ligurian coastal mountain retreat. Newly refurbished for 2021, this cosy rural stone ‘rustico’ cottage sits atop the dense green valleys and uppermost edge of a tiny Medieval village. South facing property with several private terraces to enjoy uninterrupted views & sunbathing. Only 1/2hr from the coast, this cottage has modern & traditional comforts. Easy access to the stunning Italian Riviera, as well as exploring local sights and gourmet experiences nearby. Cozy and romantic stone house in the Ligurian coastal foothills with a stunning panoramic view. Nestled at the top of a small, friendly village, this accommodation is immersed in nature, amongst olive trees and vineyards and is a peaceful place to relax and unwind, surrounded by woodlands full of wild birds & animals. Great place for yoga & meditation (including private terraces), hiking, walking, mountain biking, and road cycling. There are many great local routes both immediately around the property and many more within a short drive. The place has a fully equipped kitchen and dining area, fluffy cotton towels, high quality mattress and cotton bedding, dressing gowns, complimentary eco-bathroom products, etc so you will feel comfortable and at home. This newly refurbished tiny house consists of: - Well equipped kitchen & living room with sink, granite surfaces, range of utensils, pans, modern 5 ring gas stove with oven, plus traditional log burning cooking stove & oven, dining table and chairs, drawers, fridge freezer, hot and cold running water. - Bedroom with Ikea bamboo large queen bed and high quality mattress, side tables, shelving, clothes rail & sofa chair. - Bathroom with shower, mandi-style bath, toilet & sink - Two large outdoor private terraces with uninterrupted views : Dining terrace with outdoor table & chairs : Private sun terrace with sun loungers - Technology terrace (WiFi linked seating under shady trees) Guests can also enjoy a complimentary WELCOME BASKET on arrival containing homegrown veg, herbs & fruit (seasonal), local bread, olive oil & biscotti, homemade jam, English tea and Italian coffee. Breakfast basket replenished in request. SAFETY UPDATE: Our guests can be assured that we are taking extra care to ensure all frequently touched surfaces are thoroughly disinfected throughout the property between guest stays. We employ a professional cleaner and use anti-viral cleaning products and steam cleaning for floors, kitchen and bathroom. CAMPING SPACE: During Spring and Summer months, guests can arrange for additional camping on the adjacent meadowland, for older children and other family members. These additional guests would share the same facilities as the house. Please contact us to arrange this additional camping, prior to booking. There is an additional charge for extra campers. Pitch only €10 per night Pitch + 2 person tent with mats & bedding €20 per night Guest Access Private & village terraces, garden and adjacent meadows (available for additional camping). Guests can help themselves to abundant vegetables and fruit when in season, and have access to outdoor wood fired oven, with plentiful furniture for socially distanced dining and situated on idyllic village sunset terrace. Wifi is available on upper terrace by the main house and in the rear garden of the guest rustico (Technology terrace, where there’s a small table and chairs to sit in shade & comfortably access wifi). There’s an intermittent signal on the rustico dining terrace. PLEASE BE ADVISED there is no WiFi available inside the rustico/cottage. Magical meadowland ‘glamping’ cabin tent with double bed, meadow kitchen & yoga deck Guests have access to large adjacent car parking space, shared with hosts car. They also have shared access to private meadowland and orchards. Guest's house is separate from the main house, with gardens in-between. The private dining and sunbathing terraces are for guests-only, have uninterrupted valley views and are not overlooked. We live in a neighbouring property, along with our two friendly dogs. We are happy to answer any questions you may have if you need us. You can come and knock on the door or simply send us a message via the AirBnB app. Property access is by keysafe. The house is fairly isolated, overlooking a very small Medieval village with only a handful of other inhabitants - but only 30 minutes drive from the vibrant and chic Italian Riviera. There are lots of ruins and beautiful restorations in the village, and surrounding villages, and there is a stunning mountain spring-fed dip pool very close by - just follow the sound from the house. There are walks into the woodlands straight from the property, as well as a large adjacent meadow and fruit orchard for camping and sunbathing. There are wild swimming spots dotted around several neighbouring valleys also. The nearest town of Pieve di Teco is approximately an 8 minute drive away with excellent selection of restaurants, shops and bars. There is also a stunning woodland walk via neighbouring village of Trovasta down into Pieve, that takes two hours. The nearest big towns and cities are Imperia and Albenga, as well as great access to the nearby pretty coastal towns of Diano Marino, San Bartolomeo, Alassio, Bordighera and many more. The city of Turin is less than 2.5 hours away. Genoa is 1hr 45 mins and Nice airport is 1hr 30 mins drive. Trains run between all the coastal towns and cities, and up to Turin and Milan. There is a regular bus service from Albenga to Pieve di Teco. Refer to local information. OUT AND ABOUT Genova is roughly 1.5 hrs away, a magnificent port city, renowned for its pesto and focaccia and great for a day trip. There are numerous Italian Riviera towns to suit all, from the chic to the chilling. Sunbathing beaches, romantic promenades (to enjoy world class gelato), isolated coves (where the dogs can still swim in the summer :) and stunning towns reminding us why many an artist fell in love with this Mediterranean coast. There are beautiful beaches within 30-40 mins and even ski hills within 1 hour. World-class climbing in the nearby Finale Ligure is in easy reach. Take in the fresh air and uninterrupted starry sky of authentic Italy, and the delicious cuisine of Liguria. Ideal for a romantic getaway or an adventure trip for a couple or small family (as children can camp on adjoining meadow). Not suitable for very young children due to steep terraces. By car: We will send you a link once you are ready! The drive is approximately 12 hours from Calais, or a little longer from Zeebrugge and via the Italian lakes (Lake Como or Maggiore make a perfect overnight stop if needed). Other things to note: This region is a hiker’s & biker's paradise - and nature lovers nirvana! There are multiple, if not hundreds of hiking trails of varying difficulty levels! The fresh air awaits you. It actually tastes sweeter here :) Whether you like the hills, the mountains or the beach, this region of Liguria has outdoor options for every preference (all within less than 1 hour, if not within a few minutes driving). The summer is very warm and sunny, but due to location and its micro-climate, this region has a generally pleasant temperature all year round. There is a spring water machine in the local town of Pieve, where guests can refill the house water bottles and their own for 5c per litre. This delicious drinking water is filtered spring water available in both still or fizzy. We encourage our guests to reduce their plastic footprint, and reduce and recycle as much as possible. Dogs are the ONLY pets that we allow to stay at the property. We have strict house rules regarding bringing your dog(s). Well-behaved dogs are welcome. Guests must ensure they clean up after their animals, and ensure there is no waste left outside. We provide a dog bed if needed but dogs are NOT allowed to sleep on the bed.
