Large shaker style kitchen with table and seating for 6, equipped with dishwasher, microwave, small fridge with freezer box, gas oven/hob, toaster, Tassimo coffee machine (pods not provided) and DAB radio. Door to rear garden, adjacent utility room and wc. Utility room equipped with washing machine and dryer, extra fridge and butler sink for washing out those salty swimming costumes after a sunny day on the beach. South facing garden with a stone patio area, raised lawn and cottage style flower beds. Wooden table and chairs with umbrella for al-fresco dining. Patio bbq/smoker available in summer months. Langton is a quaint Purbeck village, the high street comprising of cottages built in the local Purbeck stone. Pop in The King's Arms a little further down the high street for a local pint and traditional pub food. It also contains a deli and village shop for the essentials. For families there is Putlake farm a short walk down the hill which has a tea shop and a small petting zoo. Also worth a visit is the village museum, dedicated to the local purbeck stone and the historic neighbourhood quarries that historically provided income for many local families over the centuries. Purbeck stone was and is prized around the world and you can even try your hand at carving at Burngate stone carving centre. Venture a little further to the traditional seaside town of Swanage with its shops, family-friendly beach and traditional Punch and Judy show provide fun for all. Drive a few minutes further up the coast to the sweeping beaches of Studland, owned and kept unspoilt by the National Trust. Favourite pubs and restaurants include the Scott Arms, 5 minutes up the road at Kingston, with spectacular views of Corfe Castle from the rear garden. Make sure you get there early in the summer however, as it can get busy. The Greyhound in Corfe gives you a much closer view of the castle and always has delicious seasonal menu on offer. For the cream tea lovers, a visit to the National Trust Tea Room is a must, sit in the back garden and its almost as if you sipping your Earl Grey in the grounds of the castle itself (without the entry fee!). Also popular is the Sqaure and Compass at neighbouring Worth Matravers, famous for its pasties and ale. For a more special dining experience book a table at the renowned Pig On The Beach at Studland, with unspoilt views across the bay to Old Harry and an exquisite menu of home-grown and locally sourced produce. Make sure you book well in advance however. Hop over the 10 minute chain ferry to the millionaire's playground of Sandbanks where you can dine on local seafood at Rick Stein's. Other local attractions include, the historic house of Kingston Lacy, Brownsea Island (the historic home of scouting as well as families of seals and red squirrels!) and The Blue Pool. Langton Matravers is perfectly situated for getting around the beautiful Isle of Purbeck, with Swanage only 2 miles in one direction, picture perfect Corfe Castle only 4 miles in the other and the riverside market town of Wareham only 8 miles away. Purbeck is a walker's and cyclist's paradise with many paths and trails criss-crossing the area not to mention the world famous Jurassic coastal path but a few minutes walk from the back door. Langton is also served by a bus which stops on the High Street and can take you into Swanage, Corfe Castle or Poole. All towels & bed linen are freshly washed by our professional cleaners according to strict COVID guidelines. To ensure the safety of our cleaners, please remove pillow cases, duvet covers and sheets, only from the beds you have used (PLEASE DO NOT REMOVE THE PILLOW PROTECTORS, MATTRESS PROTECTORS OR VALANCES), and place in the laundry bags.
