Double room in modern house in the countryside (Almere Buiten) yet only 43 minutes (by train) from Amsterdam Central Station. Room is private, rest of the house to be shared with host and possibly with guests staying in room No. 2 (not active in 2017). Double room (double bed) in a modern countryside house yet only 43 minutes (by train) from Amsterdam Central Station. The rest of the house is to be shared with the host and possibly with guests staying in Room No. 2 (see my other listing). The rooms are quite similar, so in case Room No. 1 is not available you could check if Room No. 2 is available. Included in your stay is the use of the rest of the house (if there, to be shared with host and guests from Room No. 2): bathroom (towels, shower gel and shampoo included), living, 2 toilets, TV, garden, free WiFi and breakfast. House rules: Smoking is only allowed in the garden. Breakfast is available (value approximately EUR 5 per person per breakfast, this is included in the price). Upon booking I will check with you what you like to have for breakfast and I'll make sure I have it in the house. I love to set the table and to prepare breakfast for you in the morning. However, on working days, or when you want to sleep until late and I have to do my own stuff, I might not be able to do this for you. But of course I will let you know where you can find everything for a good start of your day. Mutual respect. Please keep the shared facilities (kitchen, bathroom, living) pleasant for everyone during your stay. Example: when you use the kitchen for cooking don't leave the dishes for me. I'm a fun, flexible and thoughtful host, but being your servant is neither included in the price nor is it an extra option. Cleaning costs. These are costs for cleaning upon your departure. These do not include housekeeping your room during your stay. Of course clean towels are available at all times (in the bathroom drawer). And when you stay more than 5 nights I'm more than happy to give you clean bedding. However, I will not go into your room until you checked out. Use of the washing machine during your stay. Of course, why not. There are no additional charges. However, I am the only person operating the washing machine, so just ask if you want to do the laundry; you'll put it in the machine, I'll start the programme. I am an easygoing host and love to socialize but highly respect the wishes of my guest/guests when it comes to socializing. I find it most important that you feel comfortable. Please let me know if you need any help during your stay, I am happy to help. The house is in the countryside and located in a quiet part of the Almere Buiten 'Eilandenbuurt' (Island area); Close to one of NL's most beautiful National Parks 'Oostvaardersplassen'. A great area for hiking, biking, running or canoeing...or you can just relax in the back garden (sun from morning till late afternoon/evening) with a book/music, a drink and a bite/meal. There's a direct train connection to both Amsterdam Central Station (43 minutes by train) and to Schiphol Airport (53 minutes by train). From Schiphol Airport; > direct train (Sprinter) to station Almere Oostvaarders from platform 1-2. Leaves each 11 an 41 minutes past the hour. Your destination is Station Almere Oostvaarders. Travel time = 53 minutes, costs per person: EUR 9. In case you travel from Amsterdam Central Station: From Amsterdam Central Station, platform 11B, you can take a Sprinter train to Zwolle (get out at station Almere Oostvaarders) each 10 and 40 minutes past the hour. Travel time = 43 minutes. Please note that after midnight you need to take a Sprinter train to Lelystad from platform 10B or 13B (please check at the station, platforms might change!). The last direct train from Amsterdam Central Station to Almere Oostvaarders leaves at 00.40 AM. If you want tot take a later train you can take the one leaving for Amersfoort at 00.52 AM from platform 11A, but in these cases you will have to change at station Weesp and then get on the Sprinter train to Lelystad (1.11 AM from platform 1). Costs of 1-way train ticket from Amsterdam Central Station to Almere Oostvaarders: EUR 7.30 per person; a 2-way ticket costs EUR 14.60 per person. If you travel by car, there are cheap P+R facilities (EUR 1 per 24 hours) in Amsterdam (more info on (Website hidden by Airbnb) For Public Transport in the Netherlands you have several options: 1) buy separate train tickets (train tickets from the yellow NS machines at the train stations, BUT you need coins for that or a debit card (no credit cards)! AND separate tickets from the GVB ticket machines at Amsterdam Central Station for public transport WITHIN Amsterdam (bus/tram/metro). Or 2) buying a National Public Transport chip card (OV chip card) from the yellow NS machines at all train stations, that you can use for ALL kinds of public transport in AND to/from Amsterdam. Please do not mix this one up with the GVB tickets; GVB tickets are only valid for public transport IN Amsterdam and not accepted in trains to and from Amsterdam. After your initial purchase of this OV Chipcard (EUR 7,50) you need to put credit on it (no credit cards accepted!). You use the card by scanning it when entering and leaving the bus/tram/metro/train station. From station Almere Oostvaarders to my home: By bus: go down the stairs and turn right, and then slightly to the left to bus stop of bus lines 1 and 3. Take either one (direction Almere Haven) to bus stop 'Eilandenbuurt Zuid', which is the 2nd stop from the station. Just before the bus turns right to the stop you need to get out you pass my house on your right hand (third house from the corner). travel time: approximately 2 minutes. By foot: go down the stairs and turn right, cross the road (called 'Evenaar') and walk straight ahead away from the station (take the street with a small take away pizza restaurant on the corner). at the end of that street (3rd house from the corner) is my house. approximately 12 minutes walking). No pets other than the birds and butterflies in the garden, the goldfish and frogs in the pond and occasionally a visiting (haunting) cat from the neighbors. For guests who come by car: there's free parking in front of the house. I have 2 listings (quite similar rooms) in the same house. Occasionally both rooms are booked, which so far has been super fun. You can choose to have a joint breakfast with the other guests or not, all flexible.
