Casa na Lagoa is our weekend escape, our house at the beach, from summer to winter. From welcoming our friends and family, it was a natural step to open the place to guests. It is much more than just the house, the comfort, the fireplace & the calmnness, it is also about the place, the empty beaches, the sunsets, the fish, & the vast lagoon. ...and our 3 children love it. We carried the renovation ourselfs, keeping the heritage & simplicity of the house, while our main objective was to open the house to nature. The main living area is filled with light and high ceilings with comfortable furniture and a specially designed fireplace. A fully equipped kitchen is integrated in a beautiful exposed concrete structure and white marble, open to the dining table in front of large windows. The 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms are spread in 2 floors, with spacious double beds and large windows; modern walk-in showers and toilets, finished with handmade Portuguese tiles and marbles. Outdoors, apart from the lagoon at the doorstep, the ocean, the eco-track, and the golf courses, we have a protected outside canopy for lounging and dinning, an outdoor shower and place to clean your wetsuit & surf board, and a barbecue. We understand the importance of having local knowledge and we will provide you with the best tips and things to do. Small weekend family houses and very close to the sand (150m down the road), perfect for walks and for active minds. The sea and long beaches are just a 5 minute walk through the sand. Mr. António delivers fresh bread to the door and there is a few good local restaurants walking distance. The long and scenic eco-track runs for 8km (one way) along the Óbidos Lagoon, perfect for strolling, running or bike riding and the start is only a few minutes from the House. Here our favorite transport is all shapes of surf crafts, but nearby there is the beautiful castle town of Óbidos 15min by car, and fishing and surf village of Peniche 20min away. Award wining golf courses overlooking the sea are just 5min from the door, all just 1 hour away from Lisbon.
