Enchanting Medieval Village Home - Stunning Views
Our home on via antica 14, is in the beautiful Sabina Mountains, one hour north of Rome, with train and bus service from the airports to Roccantica. Our medieval village is a completely unique experience of the real italian lifestyle set in a village that was built in 700 AD. You will also love the abundance of hiking trails, the food, and the friendliness of the locals. Our home is very accommodating for couples, solo adventurers, and families. We have been renting our home for fifteen years through various agencies and are very pleased with our new relationship with AirBnB. There are two good sized bedrooms with queen (matrimonial) beds, dressers, lamps etc. There is a pullout couch in the living room that can accommodate one or two people. Satellite tv will allow you to check the news in a number of languages or to watch the local RAI italian stations. There is a radio and cd player in the living room as well. But the real entertainment lies in the views from either of the two terrazzos. Roccantica, despite its ancient past, has a modern fitness center with cardio and weight machines, fitness classes and other activities. See Sabina Fitness Roccantica on Face Book. The entire house is at your disposal during your stay. We visit twice annually and are happy to offer our home when we are not there. You will not be sharing any space with others. I am available by phone or email during your stay. The village is a unique experience due to its medieval history and architecture. It is like stepping back in time, to a more peaceful era. There are two wonderful restaurants in town that are always pleased to welcome our guests. Just walking around the village is an adventure. Our neighbors are lovely and very happy to see guests at our home. There are also hiking trails behind the village that can occupy hours of your time if you find nature to be your refuge. There is bus service from Roccantica to neighboring villages and towns, including Poggio Mirteto Scalo, which has direct train service to Rome and beyond. In order to see the beauty of the Sabina region we recommend renting a vehicle as there are many interesting sites very close to our village. Certainly not a necessity, but it will add to the enjoyment of your visit. I will provide you with a renter's manual on the use of the house that also includes a guide to regional restaurants, the fitness center, the local pool and tennis club, and some very interesting neighboring villages.
