Ancient watermill has been sympathetically converted into three recently updated comfortable self - contained gites offering home from home accommodation. Standing in 4 acres of meadows clothed with wild orchids in Spring, colourful butterflies and soaring buzzards, bordered by a tranquil stream known as the babbling brook which is ideal for paddling on a hot summers day. Access to communal laundry room with automatic washing machine. Sky TV available offering all free to view channels. Terrace area comes equipped with garden furniture and barbeque. Kitchens have microwaves, fridge/freezers, hob and ovens. Fosse offers Free access to our local swimming pool (July/August) and tennis courts only 5 minutes walk and Le Vivier offers a plan d'eau and mini golf course, 10 minutes walk in the opposite direction. A plan d'eau, mini golf and tennis court are located in Le Vivier only 10 minutes walk and the quaint village of Fosse with its free open air swimming pool (summer only) and tennis court is 5 minutes walking distance in the opposite direction. Several bars/restaurants providing anything from a quick snack to a gourmet meal, a general store, bakery, butcher and tabac are located in Caudies 10 minutes drive and the larger village of St Paul 20 minutes drive offers several restaurants, banks, petrol stations, bakery, butcher, tabac and a medium sized Carrefour supermarket. Within an hour you can visit the thermal baths at Rennes les Bains an example of the Roman architectural finesse. Climb one of the largest Cathar castles - Peyrepetuse for incredible views of the region. Descend the Gorge de Galamus at St Paul to Ermitage de St Antoine built into the rock side and swim in the beautiful plunge pools below. Admire Mount Canigou the sacred mountain of Catalan people that dominates the Eastern Pyrenees. Visit the larger town of Perpignan with its museums, cathedrals and extensive shopping areas or spend the day at one of the Mediterranean Beaches/Coves for a day lazing in the sun to name just a few. Car hire is essential as public transport is limited For longer days out, a drive of between an hour or two takes you to the fortified medieval town of Carcassonne one of France's most popular attractions. Descend the impressive limestone caves at Villefranche de Conflent and catch Le Petit Train Jaune a stunning train journey to the roof of the Pyrenees. Climb the Benedictine Monastery Saint Martin du Canigou at Casteil for a trip that leaves an impression. Enjoy the interactive museum of prehistory at Tautavel with its audiovisual trip into the past. Visit the duty free paradise of Andorra for a days spending. Drive along the Corniche from Banyuls into Spain for extraordinary coastline and amazing views, choosing an inspiring days outing is never a problem.
