Room is for 2 (two) persons (if you are alone, you are also welcome) and is suitable for couples and for friends also. Room has a spacious bathroom with all the facilities: bath and shower, bidet, fan, soap, washing powder, etc. You may wash your clothes in a washing machine. You can use a shared kitchen. Also you have a special place (a small lobby) with a wardrobe and table to work on the computer. There are also wooden benches and a big table outside. And... you have a very beautiful view from the window. The hosts will help you in everything you ask for. Čiginj is a quiet place for your good rest. Very nice people live here. A wonderful countryside. At the same time you may easily reach a lot of sights from here. It is also great place espacially if you want to go paragliding. Kobala landing spot is about 5min away. Lijak landing site is about 45min away. FREE parking and WI-Fi is available. When booking please let us know if you want to have a separate bed. Looking forward to hearing from you! You just need to knock on the door of our office. :-) Čiginj is a tranquil village with cca 200 inhabitants. It's about five kilometers away from Tolmin. While the village is quite calm in the winter, locals host many tourists in the summer. It makes village comes to life. There you will find an small restaurant where the locals socialize in the evenings. One of the natural heritage is the so-called "Waterfall above Bina Skala". The access is from Čiginj, where we turn uphill from the main road and reach the last house called the Whnščewa House (this is our house). The path here leads us along a partially forested path, and up the stream Lojščica. After twenty minutes of moderate walking, the trail leads us to Bina Skala, where the water is hollowed out by a cold pool, in which the locals used to bathe. But the journey does not end here. The waterfall above Bina Skala is followed by a steep ascent of the banks for a good 15 minutes. The waterfall is about five feet high. The water it supplies has two springs. The first one comes from underneath the mountain Očna, and the second one arises under the homestead Fratnik, and then the two springs join together above the Bina rock. Through the village runs the stream called Lojščica. A number of smaller waterfalls are found down the stream. Parking: You can park your car in the front of the house. How to get here: If you come to Slovenia by plane, it is best to rent a car. If you stay just for few days ( 1-4) you will visit more attractions than if you were traveling by bus or train. If you choose public transportation, the bus stop is 100 m from our house (route Nova Gorica - Tolmin, bus stop Čiginj). If you choose train, the train stop (Most na Soči) is 5 km from our house (route Ljubljana - Nova Gorica). If you arrive by bus or train, you can rent a car in Tolmin. I recommend that you take at least 5 days to visit the Soča Valley. ______________________________________________________ Getting around: From here you can get to: - Tolmin in 5 minutes by car, - Kobarid in 20 minutes by car, - Bovec in 30 minutes by car, - Soča river in 3 minutes by car, - Kozjak waterfall (Kobarid) in 20 minutes by car plus walking cca 30 minutes, - Tolmin Gorges in 10 minutes by car, - Festival area (Metaldays, Punk Rock Festival ...) in 5 minutes by car. ________________________________________________________ One day trip: - You can visit Bled, Bohinj. You can take a train (also car train). From train bus Most na Soči - which is 5 km from here, you will reach Bohinj and Bled in 30 minutes by (car)train. You can also travel with your car - you will reach Bohinj and Bled in 90 minutes. - You can visit Postojna Cave. You will reach Postojna Cave in 90 minutes. - You can visit Portorož, Piran - slovenian well known seaside towns. You will reach Portorož, Piran in 120 minutes. - You can visit Ljubljana - Slovenian capital city. You will reach Ljubljana in 105 minutes. _____________________________________________________________ Where to swim: - Nadiža river (between Robič and Kobarid) is 30 minutes from here by car, - Idrijca beach (in the village Bača pri Modreju, confluence of river Bača and river Idrijca) is 7 minutes from here by car, - Soča river - (the place called Sotočje, confluence of river Tolminka and river Soča) is 10 minutes from here by car. For most people is too cold to stay in more then few minutes, but you can still try :-). We recommend you to appropriately judge your swimming abilities, to protect yourself from the strong summer sun and to look for current information about the water conditions. Swimming is allowed only on water surfaces that are intended for swimming. _____________________________________________________________ Sports activities: If you would like to enjoy the beauty of the Soča Valley, you can do sports activities: rafting and mini rafting on the river Soča, canyoning, kayak drop and kayak school, hiking, mountain biking, running. Nearby are the famous excursion destinations (Tolmin Gorges - the entry point into the Triglav National Park, Kozjak waterfalls, Paraglading spots, river Soča ... ).
