Supermarkets 4 miles away. Local shop, chip shop & pub 1 mile away. Full use of outdoor space: BBQ, fire pit, children's swings & slide. Compost toilet with hand basin. Outdoor washing up area. 👉 No shower 👈 Please take note of this: the listing has always said "no shower" but guests aren't reading this and end up unhappy that there's no shower! No electric. Full use of outdoor space. Can charge phones, portable chargers etc. *Guests are welcome to use the washing machine but it must be used in the morning only (before 12pm) as it runs on solar power and useage is limited to one wash per day* I am available for any tourist advice or directions and guests are more than welcome to come up to the house and chat. We have 3 children, ages 9, 11 and 17, who are all friendly and approachable. The property is located in a small hamlet 4 miles from Hayle. The closest shop & post office is in Praze-an-beeble village (1 mile away) where you can do a small basic shop. There is also a fish & chip shop, a pub and a small Philp's pasty shop. Closest supermarkets are Asda & Lidl's in Hayle or Tesco, Aldi & Morrison's in Camborne. There is a bridal path right next to our field which is a nice short walk. (Please note it is also used by farmers and working tractors in the fields can be noisy). Crenver Grove is roughly a mile away and is a lovely woods for a walk or play about. We've also got Binner downs, an old mining site, within walking distance which is a lovely area of heathland and great for spotting butterflies, bees and other insects. The closest beaches to us are Gwithian, Godrevy and Hayle. Gwithian sand dunes are a nature reserve for birds and butterflies and some of the sand dunes are enormous making them great for sand surfing. You can find Sunset Surf, the Rockpool and Godrevy cafe in different spots at Godrevy beach with Hell's Mouth cafe further up the coast. Godrevy also has a surf school (next to The Rockpool cafe) that do lessons on the beach. *Please note there are no lifeguards at the furthest ends of the beaches* Hayle town has several lovely bars, pubs and restaurants as well as a Dominoes, kebab shop, fish & chips and several Indian and Chinese takeaways however: none will deliver to our property because of the postcode! (Chinese and Indian takeaways in Camborne do deliver though!) Hayle estuary is a great spot for birding (the hide has remained closed since lockdown) and Marazion marshes, where there's been an osprey & a bittern in the last couple of years 🙌 There is a bus route serving Hayle, Camborne and Helston with some buses passing near Godrevy and Gwithian beaches. The nearest train station is St Erth where you can take a short ride along the coast to St Ives for £4. There are also stations in Hayle and Camborne. Local taxis serve the area. *There is no shower for the pitch* *Please note there is hogweed, nettles and brambles in the wilder areas of our field. Hogweed sap can cause a burn which will blister when exposed to sunlight. If you think you've touched it wash the skin with COLD water and keep the affected area out of sunlight for 48 hours* *This year we decided to leave the grass long in most areas of our field to encourage bees and butterflies. Walking through the long grass is fine but shoes are definitely recommended. Please note there is definitely hogweed in these areas* *Badgers use our field to feed at night and foxes pass through so, as well as our 4 cats and 7 chickens, there will often be scats in the tracks, another reason footwear is recommended! * *Please note there are fox cubs in one of the neighbouring fields and they do wander through when they are old enough to explore. If you are lucky enough to see one please do not approach them as they are not accustomed to humans like city foxes*
