La Vieille Roche

The house is set in an ancient ''cours de ferme'' farm courtyard dating back to the French Revolution. Surrounded by countryside and forest with a lake. The location is ideal for walking, nature watching,painting and cycling. We have a mixture of animals including dogs, cats, horses, and poultry. There are various large towns within 10/15 minutes drive offering all amenities such as shops restaurants, bars, and petrol stations. Breakfast and evening meals can be provided at an additional cost. The Vieille Roche is surrounded by forest and open countryside it has a charm all of its own. The house is part of the original 16th century Manoir with some of its all round defences still remaining. It's peaceful and idyllic through out the seasons. Bedroom 1 has a double bed. There is a wardrobe and 2 bedside cupboards with lamps and a small heater. Bedroom 2 has a double bed and 2 bedside cupboards and lamps and a small heater. The room is small and has no window but is still a pleasant room. There is an additional bedroom with a double bed available if required and another single bed. I'm willing to adjust the available number of beds to suit your individual booking needs but at extra cost for an extra room. Bedding, Towels and bottled water and soap are all supplied. I will be here to welcome you and if I'm going out I will give you a door key. You are welcome to use the kitchen to cook meals, lounge with TV Netflix and a PlayStation. You can use the courtyard and outside furniture BBQ, orchard and wander in the forest or by the lake. Some areas of the grounds are private when the Châtelain and their family are in residence. Im in residence all year round but im happy to share my home and beautiful surroundings with you. There will be maximum of 2 dogs in the house. I'm available to offer you local advice on places to visit and things to see and I will make every effort to make your stay as rewarding and confortable as possible.. The lounge has a guest TV with Netflix available in all languages. Don't hesitate to ask if you need anything or to tell me if you have a problem ... Nearby places to visit include : PAIMPONT FORÊT DE BROCILIANDE and it's surrounding areas steeped in myths and legends of king Arthur and Merlin. RENNES our nearest city with a pretty old Town, shops, museums and galleries, excellent bars and restaurants and Saturday market. RENNES SAINT JACQUES PARC EXPOSITION DE RENNES Just 20 minutes away with the renowned SPACE agricultural show, dog and cat shows, wine and cheese plus various other exhibitions all year round. GOLF BLUE GREEN at Rennes Saint Jacques UGOLF at Cicé-Blossac LOHEAC is a pretty village with an excellent museum of vintage and modern cars and a race track and car rally shows. LA GACILLY is a pretty artisanal town with a river running through and its annual photo exhibition. JOSSELIN has a beautiful chateau to visit a pretty river and character buildings. MALESTROIT is set on the canal with beautiful character Tudor buildings and market on Thursdays. ROCHEFORT EN TERRE is a charming village with its artisanal shops and its beautiful decorations are a must see during the Christmas period. COETQUIDAN and the military camp of Saint Cyr with its military museum. CARENTOIR has a farm of the world ideal for the children with interaction with the animals and having a picnic. There is also a lake in CARENTOIR for bathing and fishing. TREMELIN LAKE has lots to see and do... Swing through the trees on zip wires.. Mini bungee trampoline, a long walk around the lake, horse riding, music and dancing, bathing in the lake, boating and Pédalos, plus a large restaurant and bar. QUELNUC has a paintball park and acrobranch centre. Drive, walk, or cycle. All bedding and towels are provided. Help yourselves to a selection of Tea's and coffee anytime of the day. Once you've settled in you can come and go as you please. Per person: Continental breakfast adults 6.50€ Continental breakfast for children under 10yrs 4.50€ Breakfast hours are flexible. Per use : Jacuzzi /hot tub per day 15.00€ Washing machine 3.50€ Tumble dryer 3.50€ If you are not a lover of animals you'd be wise to stay elsewhere. The dogs can bark and the cockerals can crow. I do occasionally have friends dogs here too on holiday. Bedroom 2 is a pleasant room but is small and has no window. Bedroom 3 is an attic room the beams are at head height and the stairs are very steep so not suitable for the elderly or very young children. The house is not yet fully renovated but it's very comfortable... Bring boots if you're going down the woods and slippers for indoors. FRESHLY BAKED BREAD..... My nearest neighbours make organic artisanal bread in a wood fuelled bread oven. The bread is available to buy freshly baked on a Friday. MASSAGE... Book a relaxing massage during your stay. Massages can booked in advance and the masseuse Amandine will come to La Vieille Roche. Ask me for details when you book your stay.
