Located just 10 miles north of Fort William, the Outdoor Capital of the UK, An Dùn is an ideal self-catering getaway for couples particularly those looking to appreciate the beauty of the Scottish Highlands. Explore the Great Glen and surrounding areas during the day and return to a cosy, modern hideaway where you can truly switch off from the routine of daily life. Please note that the pod is situated beside the railway line. There are only a few trains per day on this line Situated in the hospitable Highland village of Spean Bridge, the recently constructed glamping pod. The Pod comprises of a full-size double bed with capacity for storage underneath. Kick back after a long day of outdoor activities and chill out in front of our flat-screen TV with built in DVD player or walk along to one of the local pubs or hotel for a delicious home-cooked meal and a wee glass of your favourite tipple! Finished to a high standard and constructed in late 2018, the glamping pod is a stylish yet affordable alternative to traditional self-catering accommodation. The glamping pod also features a small kitchen area including the following: - microwave - toaster - kettle - small fridge - crockery and dishes (Please note that no cooker is provided.) Bathroom facilities consist of the following: - walk-in shower (level access wetroom) - toilet - corner sink Please note- the shower is a wet floor area and the whole floor can get wet. All towels and bedding provided. Private parking, with additional parking within our own drive if required. Highland hospitality basket provided. NB: Head room in the glamping pod is limited due to the curve of the pod. The glamping pod is situated in our large garden. Interaction is limited but we’re here if you need us just send a message via Air BnB. The Commando Memorial, dedicated to the men of the original British Commando Forces raised during the Second World War, is located approximately 1 mile north-west of Spean Bridge, at the junction of the A82 and the B8004. It overlooks the training areas of the Commando Training Depot established in 1942 at Achnacarry Castle. Tackle Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the British Isles! Standing at 1,345 metres above sea level, the mountain is a popular destination, attracting an estimated 100,000 climbs a year and provides challenges for climbers and mountaineers of all abilities. Lying in the Great Glen, Spean Bridge has transport links north towards Inverness and south to Fort William, provided by the A82, and the A86 heads east to join the A9 at Kingussie. The village is also served by the Spean Bridge railway station, providing links to Glasgow, London and Mallaig. There is secure storage facilities on site for bikes, skies and any outdoor equipment. Outdoor clothing is not to be dried in the Pod this can be dried/hung up in the outside storage area. There is also a fire pit, and some logs stored in there if you want to sit outside and relax in front of an open fire. The pod is situated beside the railway line, the line facilitates the trains between London, Glasgow and Mallaig which are not very frequent. There are no overnight trains unless there is maintenance on the line . There is Wi-fi available.
