DESCRIPTION OF THE AREA At the foot of the Mainarde mountains, a mountain chain within the National Park of Abruzzo,Lazio e Molise, it offers lovely walks to lovers of nature, trekking and mountain bike. In the local woods live wolves, chamoises, deers and bears. On the surrounding peaks hovers the golden eagle. On the top of Mount Brown, in the wood, it is still possible to come across the remains of the refuge, built among huge rocks, that hosted him. Also nearby are the impressive springs of the Volturno river, whose clear waters are home to a rich fauna of local and migratory birds. But you can even go swimming, canoeing or fishing in the upper course of this river, the longest in the southern Italy.
