Skye Lodge

Skye Lodge is a log cabin situated in the village of Dalavich on the shores of Loch Awe, Argyll. The cabin was completed in 2016 and is set in its own grounds as part of Dalavich Chalet Park. Finished to a high standard internally, the cabin is very well appointed with quality fittings and fixtures. The open plan living space has a log burning stove and there is an efficient air-source heat exchanger keeping the cabin toasty all year round. There are 3 bedrooms, 2 on the ground floor and one upstairs with an ensuite shower room. Downstairs there is a further large shower room, a double bedroom and a room with 2 single beds. The cabin comfortably sleeps 6 and there is a sofa bed in the main living area which can sleep a further 2 people. The kitchen is well appointed with double electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, washing machine and American style fridge-freezer. There is freesat TV, unlimited broadband wi-fi, Bang and Olufsen sound system and Bose portable speaker although the area is very peaceful so we would ask that you respect our neighbours and keep volume low. There is a wood fired hot tub just off the decking area which you are very welcome to use. The local area is great for walking, munro bagging – Ben Cruachan is 25 mins away – and fishing on Loch Awe. As a guest you can fish from the bank in designated areas or anywhere on the Loch from a boat. Boat and cycle hire is available locally. I can give you plenty of tips on things to do whatever the weather. I am happy to be on the end of a phone to help with any issues you may have but I don't live locally so I will leave you to your own devices. It’s not really close to anything – that's the beauty of it! Pine martens, red squirrels and deer are to be found in the vicinity. The nearest train station (Taynuilt) is 30 minutes away by car or taxi (from Oban). It is by far easiest to reach Dalavich by car although there is a bus from Oban which is regular, if infrequent. There is a Tesco in Oban which does deliver to the Lodge. There is a small shop in the village for essentials only.
