Quiet, sunny villagehouse, built in 1780
Southern Burgundy has all the charm of France, a very nice climate and lots of culture and cuisine. Within 10 km there are at least 5 Michelin-star restaurants, on top of dozens of regular (most of them excellent) restaurants. Our Village has three restaurants in summer. There is lots of culture to enjoy, museums, medieval castles and jazz-clubs plus anything in between. Many possibilities for sports such as horse-riding, cycling, hiking and fishing. Catfish up to 100 kg, check out the photo. The property if completely available to our guests, it is a separate home, fully equiped to live in with all facilities you may expect of a proper house. The garden is closed in by a stone wall and a gate for lots of privacy and has parking space within the gate if desired. There are no industries in the village (with only 220 inhabitants) and the sounds of birds and the occasional dog, horse, passing cars or lawn-mower are the about the only sounds you will hear. No through-roads in the village. Our guests have the whole house and it's garden to themselves. The house has private access to/from the road. We will be able to provide tourist and travel information once you are here since we live in another house on the same property. Since we like to cook, we can provide a meal upon arrival or at another occassion. Not on a regular basis though. Pricing for a full meal with drinks would be € 25 per person. Southern Burgundy has it all; good weather (often warm, not hot), good food, good wine (Chardonnay is only 15 km away) and medieval castles and villages. Tournus is has the highest density of Michelin-starred restaurants in the world! 4 in a city of 6500 inhabitants. Sports, museums, theaters, jazz-clubs, cheese-farms, medieval castles and villages, none of them very far away. Nearest trainstation is Tournus, nearest TGV-station is Macon. Nearest airport is Lyon. In Tournus taxis are available as well as bicycle rental facilities, even e-bikes are for rent (be quick though to reserve one). There is no public transportation to La Truchère. Upon special request we can provide pickup services in Tournus, make sure to let us know well in advance. Our village has no public transportation, so guests have to provide their own transport. To go fishing in the Seille or the Saône a fishing permit is required, details are available on request.
