The Old Steam House

The Old Steam House (originally built to house a vintage steam-powered car) has been newly converted into a gorgeous, detached, architect designed 1 bedroom property, set in the mature garden of a large Victorian house. The granite building is light and airy with large south-facing windows, high ceilings, wood burner, kingsize bed, excellent shower and underfloor heating throughout. We are a 2 minute walk to the village shops and pub. We have fibre cable to the premises so very fast Wi-Fi! The Old Steam House comprises a large, open plan living/dining room with south-facing French doors, a wood burner, TV and a fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. We provide teabags, ground coffee, sugar, tea towels, washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. The bedroom has a kingsize bed with a top quality mattress, an all goose down duvet and freshly ironed bed linen. The en suite shower room has a huge walk-in power shower. Towels, soap, shampoo & conditioner are provided. There is underfloor heating throughout, with a thermostat in each room. The cottage has its own garden area with outdoor seating and BBQ. There is also a dedicated parking space, and extra space if required. Available for the first time from August 2019. John and his family live in the main house at the site so will usually be on hand for help and advice. We are 3 minutes walk from the centre of St. Buryan with its well stocked shop, pub and garage. 3 minutes drive brings you to a great farm shop. Amazing fish and seafood can be purchased in Newlyn (15 minutes drive). There is also a vending machine dispensing Cornish whole milk (open 24/7) only a minute's walk away. The wonderful Village farm shop which is a ten minute walk away sells fantastic meat, vegetables, teas, coffees, pasties and deli items. The beef is from their own herd and is very impressive. We are surrounded by stunning beaches (Sennen, Gwenvyr, Porthcurno, Nanjizal, Pedn Vounder, Porth Chapel), coastal walks and stone circles. There are lots of walks and cycle routes out of St. Buryan. Beautiful Georgian Penzance, with its railway station, is a 15 minute drive. The A1 bus runs fairly regularly from Penzance to St Buryan village centre. We are 10 minutes from Lands End Airport from where you can fly to an idyllic archipelago called the Isles of Scilly, or simply take a scenic flight around our area encompassing the world famous St Michael's Mount. St Ives is a 30 minute drive, and is also accessible by train from Penzance. The Old Steam House is cleaned to a very high standard. We are now using a powerful Ultraviolet sterilizer light in all of the rooms before all surfaces are are wiped down with soap and disinfectant. Keys are to be collected from a key-safe.
