Fed up of being between walls? Get away from the hustle and concrete cities to immerse in a "petit coin" of nature within an urban farm at the gates of Porto. Here you can spread your eyes and thoughts in a wide and magnificent landscape. We have already created the ambience, so you can live your story! Green Box is for those with an adventures spirit, perfect for 2 souls. Train station Suzao at 3min walking distance, with direct trains to Porto center. Breakfast available but not included. The creation of the Green Box is based on a concept of sustainability and slow living. Non-waste and reuse are concerns of our environmental awareness. Nature has seemed the best stage for the installation of this box, with a welcoming, unpretentious and eclectic atmosphere for you to build memories. Have you ever imagined that you could live in a metal box that went through the oceans? Originally from South Korea, it is possible that you find marks of its story...just watch out. The access to the box is done by a pedestrian path in the field, 50m. In case of rain it is possible that you have to wear rain boots supplied by us. You will be able to meet with our friendly farm animals, curious to welcome you. Please, take off your shoes before entering the box. On the ground floor there is a kitchenette (stove is outdoor), a sofa bed and a full bathroom. The double bed is upstairs, on the mezzanine, with access via steep stairs (like in a bunk bed, agility is needed). Outside, the deck allows you to enjoy the outdoors, the sun and the magnificent landscape with grazing animals. You may count with our experience to advice you and give you local tips of where to go and what to visit. We're glad to help you during your stay to provide you a comfortable and cool journey with us! The Green Box is situated in a quiet and safe residential area. In the neighborhood you can find a pharmacy, supermarkets, coffees, restaurants and public transports. Within your stay, you may enjoy the neat air from the countryside with a relaxing ecological walk, alongside the “Paleozoic Route” (Sítio Rede Natura 2000). Following this path, you will end up in the middle-aged village named “Couce” (Aldeia de Portugal), where you can experience a real time flashback. Meanwhile, you can travel over the Roman’s empire legacy, which intensively exploited this Gold enriched soil. The mines still remain as a tourist open landmark, and it’s possible to visit them in a safe and guided tour. This city is also known for its artisanal cookies and traditional bread, "regueifa". We advise you to visit and enjoy the products of the "Paupério" and "Diogo" biscuit factories, and the traditional bakery in Suzão. For restaurants: A Regional Valonguense; O Barril; A Taberna do Centenário; O Jardim; FF Francesinhas; etc. Green Box is situated inside a triangle constituted by three admirable places - Douro, Porto and Guimarães – World Heritage. Thus, if you want to dive into the city bustle, you can visit the magnific Oporto city, classified as World Heritage Site. Within a 3 minutes walking distance, you can take the train on Suzao trainstation and get there in 20 minutes. Otherwise, if you have a car, you will be there in about 10 minutes. In Oporto, you will get lost with all the charming offers, such as the wine, the restaurants and its delicious food, the beautiful local shops, the landscape, the monumental historic places, the culture activities and lively nightlife, but most of all, the conviviality of its people! From Sá Carneiro Airport: - By bus: Bus nº 604 (Aeroporto - Hospital São João) + Bus nº 705 (Hospital de São João - Valongo). - By metro and train (06.00h - 01.00h): Metro line E (Aeroporto - Estação de Campanhã) + Train (Estação de Campanhã - Linha do Douro/Suzão). When you leave the public transport, you'll be at a 3 min walking distance from the Box. - By car/taxi: highway A4 (Vila Real direction) + exit Valongo. From Porto center: - By train (20min) (06.25h - 00.40h): line Caíde or Penafiel - exit Suzão; - By bus (28min): 7M (01.00h - 05.00h, bus stop Aliados) or 94 (06.00h - 00.00h, bus stop Bolhão in Alexandre Braga street); - By car (15min): VCI - A3 (Braga direction) - A4 (Vila Real direction)- exit Valongo. The Green Box is located at 2km from the highway exit, with access to the different regions of the country. The train station is at a 3 minutes walking distance. 1. Meals: \ a marvelous and delicious basket with the breaksfast can be delivered at your door (extra service - menu and contacts/orders at the accommodation) \ traditional portuguese food delivered at the gate (extra service - menu and contacts/orders at the accommodation) 2. Access & Luggage: \ we recommend you to bring a small luggage as you will have to carry it through the field and there isn't a lot of space within the Box too :) \ access to the accommodation is done through a natural path without light at night (we provide a flashlight at the entrance, next to the rainy boots and umbrella) 3. Cooking: \ the stove is not available during winter. Fast and easy meals can be prepared with the microwave, kettle and toaster; or you can order delicious meals from the external services. 4. Shower: \ the water is heated by the cylinder, which serves the accommodation exclusively.
