We have plenty of storage space available for groceries. A big dining area table easily fits six people. ￫LIVING ROOM: A bright and cozy living room with big sofa, where two people can sleep. We provide extra blankets. You can watch TV and use free wi-fi. From the living room, you can access a small balcony that offers a breathtaking view of the hills. ￫ BATHROOM: The bathroom is simplistic and clean. Feel refreshed after taking a nice shower. You also have full access to the washer in the bathroom if you need to do laundry. Our apartment in Podlonk (⇒a settlement in the Municipality of Železniki) is located under the Ratitovec mountain (1642 altitude). Our neighborhood is quiet and very friendly. The road from Železniki to our apartment in Podlonk climbs. Be sure to drive slow because the road is a bit narrow. At the neighbor farmhouse in the small village, you can buy organic home products like fresh milk, cottage cheese, honey, eggs, meat, vegetables and seasonally their homemade charcuterie. If you need to do some groceries, I suggest you got to Železniki in Mercator or Tuš grocery store. You will also find a pharmacy, post office, many different shops, bars, and restaurants nearby. Please let us know if you are searching for a specific type of store or restaurant, and we can point you in the right direction! ★ TIP FROM THE HOST: ★ If you have time, go to Ratitovec - the highest mountain in the city (1642 m above sea level) and a popular hiking destination in our region. It will take you approx two hours, depending on the route taken. If the weather is nice, you can see all around Slovenia and Slovenian Alps. When on top, try typical Slovenian dish “jota” (sauerkraut stew) and pastry “flancat”. A car is recommended. ★Arriving by car★ ￫ FREE parking on premises. DO VISIT: ☆Nearest city ŽELEZNIKI, which used to be known for iron smelting. You will end at one of the oldest furnacesto. A visit to the Železniki Museum will acquaint you with life in the times of the ironworks. ☆DRAŽGOŠE - During the Second World War it was the site of the Battle of Dražgoše between Slovene Partisans and Nazi Germany armed forces. After suffering heavy losses the Nazi forces set fire to the village, shot 41 hostages and deported the remaining residents. In 1976 the Dražgoše war memorial was built just outside the village to commemorate this battle and the destruction of the village. ☆SORICA, where you can visit the birth house of the painter Ivan Grohar. ☆ŠKOFJA LOKA, take a tour of the old town centre of Škofja Loka – one of the most authentic medieval towns in Slovenia. Also, do visit the most imposing building in the town – Loka Castle.
