Tarxien is famous for it's UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Tarxien Temples which are an archaeological complex in Tarxien that date to approximately (Phone number hidden by Airbnb) BC. These are found a 10 minute walk from the house. Also close by (15 minute walk) is The Hypogeum of Ħal Saflieni which is a Neolithic subterranean structure dating to the Saflieni phase in Maltese prehistory. The area although not touristic is a good base for exploring the main attractions in the South of the island. Tarxien is 3 km from the airport, 4 km from the Birgu Waterfront and the charming 3 Cities, 5 km from the seaside villages of Marsaxlokk and Marsascala, 8 km from the capital, Valletta and 10 km from Sliema.
